I know there are at least 3 threads here (I started one of them) discussing problems Firefox users are experiencing over the last week or so.  At the suggestion of another player (Thanks traciebee!) I simply uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and things are now back to normal.  Using another browser worked also but this was the first problem I have had with Firefox and prefer to stick with it for now.

Admittedly, I just made the change and only played one shot so I can't guarantee how long this "fix" will last but it is easy to do, doesn't hurt anything, and appears to have worked.

Good to know - you went back in versions, didn't you?

Me, too, hesitates to turn my back to FF.

The mozilla organsiation are reluctant to accept Flash due to it's safety issues, this may explain the struggles. Thus, we have to balance their versions for acceptable results.

Actually no, I installed the current version of Firefox and it is still working.  I'm no computer wizard, but I am assuming it wasn't the "version" of Firefox that was the problem but something that happened when the automatic update is installed.  I guess we'll see what happens when the next automatic update comes out but I am good for now.

I am running Windows 10 64 bit, and I had problems with the game after the latest automatic Firefox update ... so checked which version had been installed.

I discovered that the download had equipped me with  the 32 bit version of Firefox.

I followed the instructions to install 64 bit and remove 32bit from the Firefox website ... and now all is well ...

"Follow these steps to switch to 64-bit Firefox:

    1. Go to this Mozilla Firefox download page and click on the Windows 64-bit download link.
      DownloadWin64-bit
    2. Run the setup file you've just downloaded and follow the prompts to install the 64-bit version of Firefox.
    3. Close Firefox.
    4. Now it's time to remove the 32-bit version. Open the Windows Start menu and click on Settings. Open the System panel, then select the Apps & features tab.
    5. Scroll down the list of apps until you find the Mozilla Firefox item that contains x86 in the name. Select it, and click Uninstall.
    6. Follow the prompts in the Uninstall Wizard to complete the removal of the 32-bit version."

Turn off auto updates for FF, only install them if you want to. I find that can help when the version you have plays very well and you don't want to change.

Am stuck with a spin dial that if I don't click twice at the bottom for full bs, it reverts to full top spin when I go into my back swing.

Its a pain in the *** and cost me a few bracket and readygo credits in the first few days.

I still forget to check the full bs once in a while and end up with poxy results on most shots apart from drive.

The meter speed was all over the place for a day or two as well.

Uninstalled, reinstalled many times, as with adobe flash player.

Cleared caches and uninstalled unnecessary programs. Whether it worked or not I haven't a clue.

Firefox has the smoothest meter, without doubt, but am now stuck with a sneaky spin dial...

Chrome and explorer, as well as Maxthon all play fast toward the ding, which causes a push. Safari is interesting, the meter plays slower most of the time, but as with Chrome and the others, speeds up much quicker than Firefox. Safari, apparently, isn't supported by the PC version, but nevertheless works fine.

I'm sticking with my dodgy spin dial just because of Firefox smooth and reliable meter.

I think you are right about the updates Firefox sent us. My version was smooth and reliable before the recent update and afterwards I couldn't keep a ball in the fairway with the way my meter was acting. I tried every flash trick I knew and nothing worked. I even uninstalled it and re-installed the last version but nothing worked. So finally I did a "system restore" going back to a date about a month ago and everything is wonderful again.  For now  lol

If you haven't already done so, be sure to eliminate auto updates if you want to keep your current version.
