Howdy folks..Well if everything goes according to Hoyle, by this time tomorrow we should have some early scores posted in the virtual open qualifying...

For me, according to results of the last group of tournaments such as the May Ketel cup debacle and the open qualifying at Congressional, I believe that you can switch around the names of the top 50 players that enter these things and can come up with a score of 54 by one of them.

Thats my early guess, what do you think..?  too high...too low?

Not sure about 54 on first day, higher winds and the links style can sometimes wreak havoc.   But with that said I don't think its too far off, I will go with 56.

On the other hand, the cut score was lower on St. Andrews then it was at Oakmont last year, so to qualify 58 might be the number!

    Cheers,

I don’t think the scores will as low as the congressional, St George's has a lot of tougher holes and huge par 3‘s, Its a lot tougher than St Andrews here have a look at the holes

The qualifier will have low winds. They always do.

I'm predicting a qualifying score 58-60.  It should be pretty much like Congressional, just depends on how everyone plays the tough holes.

i would say a score of 51-52 might be in order!

At my latest check  there is a guy who posted a score of 33 & change for the tough skill challenge at Royal S Georges. that is about 3-4 foot from the flag per hole! i could even see that one of these legends may flirt with 49 before its over.

I can tell you from first hand knowledge. If you get bad wind, those par 3's will eat you up!
