It's great to see this game is designed to be like real golf. At least that's what the Legends all claim. I suppose that's why the REAL US Open golfers will all shoot 59 or better every round.

If they could play the course a hundred times before the tournament they probably would shoot 59's.

I've said before in another thread ... the sooner people quit comparing WGT to "real" golf, the better.

Yes .. WGT is easily the most realistic golf video game that I've ever played ...hands down.

But, at the end of the day, its still just a video game .... it's all 1's & 0's.  If you can do a little math and have any kind of timing, you can shoot very low here , especially since we have a very limited number of variables to deal with.

you'd probably find real pro's wouldn't use the same starter irons as you do either.

in fact the clubs and balls that real pro's use would put WGT clubs and Callaway balls to shame.

I saw rory mcilroy hit an iron shot 320 yrds at Congressional today with my own eyes (it's a fact)...he sure as hell hit the ding with that one.

WGT...I want some clubs like that.

    just sayin'

I just wish someone had warned me that a newbie who hasn't spend a wad of cash on new clubs and golf balls should never venture into the virtual open. It was a horrible experience in terms of game play. No enjoyment at all.

im at master level and shoot low 60's but the game is getting boring now with people shooting 57 every round. they must spend 10 hours a day on it

Also Alan that isnt the Qualifiers its the actual Open,Im sure scoring when the Open starts here will be more realistic,It will never resemble real Open golf will it,after all we are sitting down watching TV on the side and clicking a mouse when we feel like it,That is slightly easier wouldn't you say.:):)Also agree with Jeff, about variables, we dont have to deal with Downhill lies,or uphill,or muddy ball.Or a Caddy telling you the wrong shot, and we dont have to walk 3 miles around that course with millions of people watching,:)

You got to find out how this golf game works all by your self. Lots of tips in the FAQs and also in the forums. As far as enjoying the game, don't expect to much at first. Lots of practice, buy the best clubs you can afford and hit the ding. Next year you will be ready to take on the best in the virtual  U.S.Open.  Good Luck...!!!!
