el3n1: It surprised me a little that you play 3 different wedges (brands).
LOL, I know this is not the norm. When the Mack Daddy wedges came out, I definitely preferred the 100 yd wedge over the Calloway that I had in my bag, so I made that switch.
I assumed that I would replace the 80 yard Calloway with the 75 yard Mack Daddy (and then have 50, 75, and 100 increments for my wedges), but I had so many memorized distances at that point in time with the 80 yard Calloway that it was difficult for me to just start over. I still think that eventually I should just bite the bullet and go through that learning curve, because if nothing else, I definitely prefer the slower meter speed of the Mack Daddy.
My 50 yard wedge is by far the best in my bag, and I could never get rid of that and replace it with a 60 yard wedge like many carry. I just wish that Mack Daddy had come out with a 64 degree wedge that went 50 yards.
I am not a good player as far as natural ability (that includes eye-hand coordination), so I need all the help I can get to slow down the meter speed. This is also why I have stuck with the Max balls. I find their spin to be sufficient, especially for anything 180 yards and in, and I simply score much lower with them than I do with the higher rated Nike balls.
So this goes back to points that others have already made that you have to learn what works for you. I had to learn some things differently to play at a higher level of skill. And once I did, I have become happy with my level of play. I suppose that if I ever have the desire to get better still, then I would have to learn to do some things differently.
