Does Shot Pal give players an unfair edge?

if one player in your club is using shot pal and others aren’t is this fair or give that person an advantage?

One member recently beat another top member by 12 strokes and it seemed odd. We discovered he had purchased thousands of shot pals and no one else in club was using it.

FYI, We aren’t allowed to use putter pal in h2h

Are you talking about the the pal that slows down the meter? Shot Pal and Putter Pal just put hashmarks on the meter and I would be surprised if those aren't allowed. They don't do anything other than give one references marks and don't really give you an advantage, IMO.

That other one where you click the tab ob the meter is different and on the PC it's referred to as Focus Boost. Is that what you mean? It's not allowed in the current World Cup taking place, either.

I'd be very surprised if shot and putter pal made a 12 shot difference, as Jim pointed out it just gives you a few marks on the meter dividing it up into even segments which should, in theory, make it easier to hit a 70% or whatever shot.

Once your club gets up a level or 2 they're available free to all members, personally I find it distracting and never have it switched on.

Still doesn't matter...can memorize where to 'draw back' to,it's just quicker..

If anyone serious about learning this game FULLY..then use all legitimate tools @ your disposal.

Had a 'stick on screen' putter pal..before they even came out.

Jim i don't think that is what he is talking about. 1000 of those even @ only 37 credits would add up to 37000 crediits or $370.00 worth of credits. Thats a lot to spend to win a few worthless coins.

Also I have used putter pal in h2h so either the OP is mistaken about putter pal not being allowed in h2h or someone lied to him.

We deem it not fair since he is allowed to use more meter readings. Everyone is "master", however this person has advanced faster than the other members. He's the only one in the club to use it. We disallowed PP and don't want all the gimmicks.

I agree with you it is not fair but anything you make on your own is your business.

1000s of anything in the PS is going to be in the hundreds of dollars. I can't see either of the Pals making a 12 stroke difference, though, and I'm not even sure that Focus Boost would either. Thinking maybe there's some exaggerating going on. ;-)
