Tracer773: I thought that maybe the game required a pitch or chip in certain scenarios, but I recently tried a pitch and immediately followed up with a chip. They both went a couple of inches.
The First Rule of WGT golf is: Don't trust the caddie! Club and shot proposals are "unfortunate" most of the time, you'll have to check and correct them as a principle!
Second to that, you found other core information!
- chips and pitches have a low trajectory, with plenty of roll.
- chips have to land on fringe or green to perform correctly,
- pitches have to land on FW, fringe or green,
- club performance is quite nonlinear, meaning that you receive inferior results on low meter %%,
- clubs don't work as advertised on meter %% below 60/70.
- low level clubs like the Starters (and probably the coin clubs) perform even worse, especially in the two latter regimes.
My two Pfennig: Play full or punch shots in those situations, and live with overshooting.
