    bmhj59:

No one should be able to have a score on a course here that professionals can not produce in real life !!!!!!!!!!!

With all due respect, bmj , as u know, this is not RL, pretty close though....

If it was  like real life, the better players here would score Mid 60's to low 70's, the lesser players would score 80's 90's and even 100's...

I believe the scores on WGT such as mid-high 50's generally equate to shooting in the mid 60's in RL, with the catch word being ' equate '

    Just my take,

    Cheers to you Sir,

Scores that are shot by the best players are awesome. However you will never see this on the PGA Tour. Yes there is a 59 out there, however they just make the courses longer and tougher to compensate for low scores. On another how come WGT did not try to add Broodmoor since it held the US Womens Open. It is a USGA run tourney just like the rest.

    Thanks,

    Roger

They used Oakmont last year which was the Ladies Open venue. Maybe they felt Congressional was a better choice for this years' virtual U.S. Open. And who knows, maybe it was easier for them to get Congressional to allow them access to take all the photos needed to make the course.

    well....

if you can write a piece of software that can account for every variable posible then you'll get your wish.

it may take 1/2 hr to get through the calculations when you've hit the ball, but hey ho.

other than that, you'll have to cope with the fact that this is a loose approximation with just a few variable. master the variables and don't be surprised to see sub 50 rounds.

It was on here before as a CTTH challenge for a limited time. I doubt the whole course has been photographed for stroke play. There are obviously contractual reasons why certain courses do not appear here in stroke play mode. I think the CTTH challenge is due to return some time.

I don't know, Box, it may be a complete, absolute fantasy on my part and/or hard-core wishful thinking and all that but I've said before and I still think that one of these days our boys at WGT are gonna spring a huge late-summer, autumn surprise on us and give us full stroke play at Pebble Beach. Maybe I'm a dope but it's a feeling I got. I mean, if nothing else, think of the cash cow the front 9 will be for them as so many of us replenish our Callaways after we launch 'em off into the Pacific Ocean. Especially on #8. Hell, maybe that's why they gave us the new feature of being able to buy them in mid-play with that in mind! Just kidding. Sure would be great though, wouldn't it.

Pebble Beach will be here as a stroke play course eventually. Even if it is not until 2019 when the U.S. Open is played there again.
