first, why is it that when I use up a ball during a game I cant use the balls in my bag, its either buy more ( which I cant afford to do most of the time as I'm on a fixed income) or use a starter ball, There has to be a way to let us use the equipment in our bags.

Also what is up with the meter???? it jerks and hesitates a lot more now than it did before, now most of the time even restarting a match doesnt help, and you can only do that twice the third time it boots me from the game, its hard to play with a messed up meter. That and even though the balls I use say I get a slow meter I noticed the speed varies from shot to shot.

    No way, I'm afraid.

First and foremost, your wording is misleading yourself. There is only one type of balls in your "bag", while the others are in your inventory. (Compare that to your garage)

By the rules of RL golf, the bag is "closed" to equipment changes during a round, with only a few exceptions that are off limits in WGTland. Here, this means that you can't access "inventory" while playing, and this includes the ball pocket.

Also, it's but a game. If you choose Starters as a replacement, you can always come back for another round with another ball. On any "important" game,
we should be prepared to invest in the necessary balls.

And, to be honest, a vapour ball of 325 cr is quite an extravagance - I've been playing a 65 cr ball until I became a Legend, and I'm sure that there are
other budget WGT balls available as a cost-saving alternative.

    A more difficult question!

The meter is a result of your local installation. PC, OS, browser and Flash contribute, not to forget CPU and memory load.

You may want to look up information here in the forum - Search =>

Next, experiment with different browsers and different Flash versions.

    Good luck, and have fun!

95% of the time meter problems are a problem generated from your computer not WGT. People with older computers or computers that only meet the minimum memory requirements have the most problems. Keeping your cache cleared helps and making sure your flash player is up to date also helps. The browser you use depending on your computer memory can have a negative meter effect too.

Prior to starting a round you are give the chance to change equipment. This is your chance to choose a different ball from your inventory. To avoid having to either make a purchase or switch to the free ball during a round, choose one of your balls that has more "life" .

When you tee off and you see that the ball life indicator is in the red, you pretty much know what is going to happen.

The meter problem is something that you can fix. It is not a WGT problem.I have gone through meter issues with a number of browsers. Sometimes a simple browser or OS update can screw the meter. Combinations of equipment can make play difficult.

Currently I use SlimJet with a built in ad blocker as my WGT browser.

The USGA rules of golf allow you to replace a ball during competition, whether it's lost or damaged. The rules don't allow other equipment changes, so I get the reasoning. But, to make WGT more realistic, you should be able to go into your bag and get a replacement ball.  I agree with being prepared ahead of time, and I've learned the hard way to do that, but if you're purchased a ball and it's in your bag, you should be able to use it.

Realism has limits in an online game.

    Facts of nine WGT years:
There's only one ball in your bag, and you can't access the inventory.

Another fact are recurring problems, flaws and errors when the game is modified. Therefore, you'd better be careful what you wish for. Luckily, experience tells us that non-profitable changes are few and far between - they won't follow your wishes.

The rules of golf only allow you to replace a ball with the same type, not any ball in your bag. In other words, if you were playing a Titleist NXT you would only be allowed to replace it with another NXT, not a Pro V1.

If you are low on balls at start of the round, buy more then. You choose a ball to play with, and thats the only type you can play in that round.

The starter ball allows you to finish, but by the rules of golf if you put your last ball in water. You are done.

Again, you may have many different balls in your inventory, but only one make/model in your bag. So it pays to have enough of that one in your bag when you start your round. Think of it this way: You may have several sleeves in the trunk of your car, but they do you no good at all when you find water on Congressional #11.

Another fact of WGT is that by the end of the year, we'l probably have at least one more of these threads in which someone says that during a round they should be able to access other sleeves of balls they've purchased. :-)
