Here's the reason...Chambers Bay is located in University Place, WA. University Place is so money hungry, they opened the course to the public as soon as it was done being built. This gave no time for the greens to settle and mature. Another course that opened around the same time was The Home Course in Dupont, WA. Now this is where they got it right. They didn't open it to the public until two years after it was built. If you have not played The Home Course, I really recommend it. It's a way better course in my opinion, plus it's cheaper. I live about 20 mins away from Chambers Bay and have played it twice now. They are losing money fast because they were greedy and it seems to me they are just trying to be something that they're not...especially with their prices. Just my two cents...
