1) Jack Nicklaus.
so i could thank him for an autograph he gave me during a practise round of the 1974 open at Lytham St Annes. i was 12 and on a school trip and was collecting autographs of players around the course. on the edge of one tee a excited group of people had massed around one player, as i got nearer i seen that it was Jack N. i was stuck at the back and by the time i got myself to the front he had finished signing autographs and started to walk on the the tee box. i started to walk to the edge of the tee with my pen and book held out and said please Sir can i have your autograph. by this time one of the security guards had me by the scruff of the neck and was marching me away from the tee. Jack turned round and shouted at the rather large security gaurd to let me go, he then called me across and with a smile took my book and signed it. with the biggest grin on my face i turned and started to walk off the teebox. just as Jack gave the guard a dressing down for his actions. i don't know what was more priceless the black penned autograph i had in my tartan covered book, or the look on the security guard's face as i walked past him. if looks could kill. Jack was still taking the guard to task as i walked off the tee and into the massed crowds. i never did say thanks. so would love a round with Jack to put matters right.
2) Gary Player (the man in black)

4) my late Father who gave me my first clubs which he found in a bin outside a bookies. when i pointed out that i was left handed and the clubs were righted handed he just laughed and said its gonna be a bit harder for you then. i play right handed still and have managed to get my handicap down to 8.
