Hello Lou & Everyone , please accept my apology , I feel bad enough as it is , I didn't mean to be dishonest in anyway , having said that . I believe it would be best to withdraw the Sandhills from the competition , I wish you all the best !

I do hope you reconsider.  As captain of your country club, its easy to understand you wanted to give them best shot week in and week out. It wasn't specifically outlined, so subject to interpretation.

I am also a TarHeel and cheer for you guys. You have a great competitive club with terrifc people in it. Would be great if we all chalked this up to a misunderstanding, and moved forward together.

    6) For those of you who don't get it yet .... this tournament was never about who wins .... if it was I'd put our top 10 against any club any single day.   And guess what .. I wouldn't be in it.     It's about getting all of the members of OUR club and YOUR clubs to participate in come club vs. club activity they probably wouldn't get to normally do when the top players square off.

I think this is the most important section of your post Lou.

My take is that this is a fun tournament, getting more people to play, seeing more different names on the boards, especially in those high winds at St Andrews where almost any score is possible.

Raising the fun factor, playing as part of a team, some obviously bigger than others, encouraging players to keep going because you never quite know what is going to happen 3,5 or 9 holes further into the round.

I for one can say that it has helped get more members of the CC I'm in involved in playing the tournaments and rooting for the other guys.

    No worries Ed.

Seems you made a miss-judgement & followed it up with a comment that could be interpreted in several ways. That's the problem with forums, very impersonal & easy to end up in an argument.

    Apology accepted from me anyways.

It's not about who wins?? Are you kidding me??? You'd put your top 10 against any club any day??? Isn't that what we are doing?? OK... Here is your marketing strategy... and then you say it is not about who wins... I call BS on that..

It is the goal of most people on this site to beat "The Deviations". Hell yea it is about winning. Anyway..Look here.. if you think what Ed did can be considered anything other than "unethical", I disagree with your morals 100%. To not DQ him, is in my opinion, to condone cheating.  That being said, like you said, this is your tournament to run as you wish. I want no part of it. I hope that our difference in opinion will not affect the other TECC members.

OK. speedy is absolutely 100% correct. Everyone wants to try and keep a subtlety about them but in all actuality, they want to win. This was NOT a misunderstanding. If it was 1 maybe 2 players it could "possibly"  be taken as a  misunderstanding. But when it is 6 out of 10 scores, I don't think that is a misunderstanding. Either way, the tournament will now keep a clean, fair balance to it.

    GAME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too funny .... someone took the time to make that nice logo and send it to me.   And it looked nice ....  so I used it ... every tournament has a winner right ???

But ... like i said from the very first post.  I did this tournament so all of the members of my club could play, chip in, and maybe crack the top 10 and contribute.    It gets old just seeing the top handful of players play in all of the events.      This is a tournament were every member of the clubs can play since 10th place is as important as 1st for your team.   If this was just about winning ... only 10 from each team would be playing ....

Also, Edge - i really don't want this to be argumentative ... but ... If you noticed .. I never put any scores on the leader board for Carolina did I ???   What's the big deal.   Again, I really don't need your assistance running this little tournament.

Speedy - Whether or not you decided to participate ... i'll leave that up to you and Edge/Bradyseven --- if they give me a set of scores with you in it ... I'm ok with that.  No hard feelings here .. people are entitled to disagree.

I wish all the clubs good luck at beating Deviations .... There are several of you who clearly have the Big Guns that can do it.

And regarding this little fiasco .... "In every omelet some eggs are broken".   This was just a few broken eggs.

Thanks for all the kind posts ladies and gents.   Let's attack St Andrews and the ladies tees.

Jeff and Speedy, we are teammates, but I do disagree. To insinuate that Lvietra condones cheating is ludicrous.  All my dealings with him have illustrated him as being more than fair and straight up guy.

The point has been clarified, everyone now is on the same page.   Lets put it behind us and move forward in good competitive sportsmanship.  It is a privilege to be a part of this tourney where every member of the club has the opportunity to contribute.

A message to Lou lvietri. This is a great format for total club participation. I can tell you that all of Electra is excited about participating.

Lou does a great job of running comps and its a privilege (not a right) to be invited. So we hit a slight setback with a club that didn't seem to understand the "spirit" of the competition. (I'm being kind beyond my nature) So now let's get on with the program.  Thanks Lou---------this is great.
