    BolloxInBruges:

Great job running the tournament Lou, it was fun to participate in for he first 4 weeks.   I'm throwing in the towel and will not be playing the remaining weeks.

Pitty to not see 1 of the best players if not the best player ever to play this game not being able to play in his own event, i guess this is what it has come too.

As a CC Owner, I can completely understand Bollox choice to withdraw from this tournament. We had 1 of our TOP members withdraw as well for the same reason, well I mean, under different circumstances, but the same reason altogether.

    Thanks Bollox.

    Just a note:

Every player in WGT has the right to decide if they'd like to participate.   While I too am concerned that we have lost a great player - I wouldn't be surprised if others do the same thing ... especially from my own club.   Bollox knows that I respect his decision as I will anyone else who decides to not finish the last few weeks.

As I said in the beginning, one of the things we were trying to accomplish was to give everyone a chance to play for their club and get involved in a CC wide tournament.  At least it's done that .. in one way shape or form :)

In the end .. it's a game we play to pass the time.     Again good luck to everyone in the last 3 weeks.   I'll continue to run this to the best of my ability.

    lvietri:

Week 5 was very close ...  Congrats to Electra who had 2 players step up late Sunday afternoon and shoot career scores to clinch first place for the week.   Deviations was a close second followed by The Elite CC.

Hi Lou--very sorry to hear that Bollox has withdrawn-and that others have concerns re: what may be unethical--ie cheating---in order to win.

    1. The 2 Players you refer to as shooting "career" rounds are TdotDoba and Jafo12-they were not career rounds: TdotDoba shot 59 in the August 18 hole unlimited. Jafo has shot 59 on 3 occaisions so her 60 at Kia would not be a career rd. Jafo12 (Amy) is a 58 avg Master (why she's still a Master is another issue) But her MP conquest include some giants like Ironking, Infinto, and others.

Finally, thanks for running this great comp-that allows so many to participate.

Give credit where credit is due. Those might not be their career rounds, but I bet they're their career best on Oakmont.

Another good event  and another black eye on it with suspicion. Story never seems to change.

Seems as though its more fun just playing with a few buds in an alternate....too bad.

Looking at this from a neutral perspective I think everyone needs to calm down.

I do not think that any of the clubs left in this competition would cheat, and Electra and there members are beyond reproach in my mind, I never for a minute thought anything underhand had taken place here. If anything they are the most ethical(behind ELCC) club on here.

2 experienced players, at master level, have scored very good scores on Sunday afternoon. Is either of them capable of this, yes. If you look at both their records, would it be possible for them to hit those scores, yes.

Ok so if someone has played for them, who? I cannot think of one of the top players at Electra who would do that, everyone of those is a respected and well known member of this community.  I am also sure that the 2 players involved would have something to say about this idea, as they are also both well known in the community also and good players.

It strikes me that someone has been surprised at what has happened and gotten a little carried away. There is no great shift in the balance of power here, there was nothing really to be gained.

This has been a great comp and we have loved playing in it. Internally it has got a lot of people involved so can we just get on with playing please.

Sorry I guessed wrong. I see both players' best 18-hole rounds are 59. So I thought 59 and 60 on Oakmont would be right on top of there. Great rounds nonetheless.
