i'd like to see WGT have this game run as tight as a cow's a$$ in fly season to stop the sandies a little more effectively by integrating mp games into the calculations for avg's etc.....wouldn't be too far off i'm thinking.

    tbe.

TaterNater i've noticed this BS as well! i refuse to play a dam tour master or a master above level 88 in match play challenge when they haven't played a ranked round within the last 2 MONTHS and have an average around 62.

Sounds nice , but they can't and won't for the same reason stats are not tracked in MP to begin with.  Match may not go 9 or 18.  How would you calculate an avg. with a match going  , lets say...     4 and 3  ?  You couldn't even pull stats per 3 holes played. Match may go 5 and 4   or  2 and 1.  And may even go into extra holes.  But,  by all means keep the  ideas flying , because like all of you , I'd like to see something done as well.

use match play wins to move someone up - you win, you advance

I think the above about money being involved is the relevant point.  I'd presume a lot of players got here and play like me - no idea baout "tiers" etc, just out to have some fun and try to play better.  But within days - not knowing about "tiers" and being "ranked" rather than picking "practice" I was suddenly a "Pro" and couldn't get close to many of the Par 4's anymore in reg.  Answer?  Money.  Need clubs, balls, drivers etc etc.

The system, if it is known, encourages sandbaggers just like pairs and group comps do in RL.  And for some players, it may be their only realistic way to build a character if they can't afford to pay real money like I had to - within a week.

I can only imagine how I'd be going at a lower tier with the gear I've now got.  The mind boggles with some of the high end gear...

a certain number of birdies on holes played could be a form of assessment to match?

I would not so much look at the players Ave ,I would focus more on the loop hole,So for example they could simply Cap, what a player can earn( Profit) In match play only in a particular Tier.So amateur Tier, once you have profited more than 20 dollars in Match play you can no longer play for credits in that tier,Pro level could be 30 dollars Tour Master 40 dollars and Legend unlimited, this way a player wil not have the incentive to stay in match play in that certain Tier,Cap a players match play earnings in a Tier!! Simple!
