    TaterNater:

there is way to many... geez there are pros and tour pros level 88 usin topnotch equip .... chillin at that tier just playin alt games and killin folks in matchplay challenges. wgt needs to make rg's and matchp[lay challenges from the same tees to stop this BS ........pfft nuff said ... will be no response of any1 of importance ............

If you see a pro who is higher than level 50 then don't play him, anyway, most of the time people pick on pro's thinking they are easy $$, then get a shock LOL.  Avoid high level pro's simple.

WGT ruined the easiest way to stop sandbagging by making equipment level based, when it was tier based it was o.k because pro's had to use raptures, and you had to progress to master + for the long drivers.  Refund every ones $$ back what they spent on drivers, and make them TIER BASED like the good old days.  1 stop solution to SANDBAGGING

If this is out of question then Tes's solution is on right track, how about showing matchplay earnings/losses with your careert earnigs so you can see how much some one's won/lost in matchplay, then you can judge for yourself

    PRIESTESS:

I would not so much look at the players Ave ,I would focus more on the loop hole,So for example they could simply Cap, what a player can earn( Profit) In match play only in a particular Tier.So amateur Tier, once you have profited more than 20 dollars in Match play you can no longer play for credits in that tier,Pro level could be 30 dollars Tour Master 40 dollars and Legend unlimited, this way a player wil not have the incentive to stay in match play in that certain Tier,Cap a players match play earnings in a Tier!! Simple!

Makes a lot of sense....but...What if all the credits earned we against same tier?  Contray, how would you know if say a TP was challenged by 20 am's andwon them all?

I agree in principal, but concerns me the honest players in thier tier could get shanked....but your suggestion is one of the best I have heard.

How about this: buyer be ware. All you have to to is alt-tab to your wgt page and look the player up in the wgt community. Look at his equipment and stats. Dont play a tour pro playing with a L58driver or better and L79 irons.  And hell, you shouldnt be playing ameteurs or pros if youre at the legend tier. Why do you want to ruin someone elses gaming experience or change it to your preconceived notion about how the game is meant to be played. Play your game and have your fun. Let him have his. He isnt affecting you.

Quite simply, the system will always be abused and broken as long as Tier is solely calculated on average.

Stroke play average is fine for placing people into stroke tourneys, but it is irrelevent for matchplay.

What if we had a separate ranking system for matchplay?

We will call it the "Club" ranking. It should be similar to rankings for chess. You Start at a base number. When your win rating goes up, lose rating goes down - but you get more points for beating a player ranked higher than you. you lose more for getting beat by lower level players.

Players with a high Club ranking get moved up in tees just for matchplay. SO that Pro Sandbagger would be somewhat reluctant  to go up against a high ranked opponent as it would cause them to be moved up. Once you move up, you can't be moved back down, just like how it works for stroke play.

The bet itself could be used as a multiplier, but i don't know if that would be necessary.

Someone could be a Pro, but be a Club Legend. It's analogous to some local guy that plays 1 or 2 courses extremely well, and likes to hustle Matchplay - even pros should be wary of this character.

    Infinito3010:

    Great Idea Tess;

However, earnings as a result of MPC are not counted.  They would need to setup a different tracking stat that would track winnings as well as losses.

It is a very good idea Tess...  Doesn't the credits you win go onto the 'Career Earnings' total on your Profile Page Infinito...  Maybe, they could track it from there

    Cheers

i only choose Legend tier when i setup a challenge game, or if im looking to join, i wont play TM or M for credits, its as ppl say, alot of sandbaggers and on some holes 50-70 yds advantage for players with same equipment.

    WGTicon:

if you see a hack who is level 90, if you chose to play them, then it's your call. if I saw a player like that, it would raise doubts with me and maybe i'd consider finding a new game.

as you all know, no system is perfect and if you guys have a better system that can successfully be applied, please post it and we'll gladly consider it.

One little bit of sense at last.

Why would a 'legend, TM, Master, etc' want to play a 'Hack' for  virtual money?

The same question goes for all tiers where they're playing someone for 'virtual' money when the opponent is at a lower level. Why?  Easy pickings maybe?

If you get sucked in, and lose, don't whine about it.
