YankeeJim:
Wutpa: I'm happy something, anything is being done for PC players quite frankly, and that there is something for us to test out ahead of the final switch-over. I don't much like it yet, but I haven't had the chance to tinker with it. The original Flash game took time too.
Spot on, Nigel. There's 15 months to the ostensible end of Flash and I have no doubt what we see then won't be anything near what we're fortunate enough to get a peek at now.
Nothing has changed on the PC version-you can play along like nothing ever happened. However, there's now a link on your desktop to something that will eventually be the way it is. It's a unique opportunity to get a jump on what's to come and the claims of "I ain't...." will soon turn to "OK, I can handle this." Maybe use it to get your CDP, or something for now. It's going that way and I don't see a suitable substitute so what's to lose?
I found this game when Links started slowing down and now I'm looking at another game when this one dies, sorta. Big advantage being able to eyeball the progress and still have what I know.
Get through the growing pains, we'll all be having it right soon. Consider this a mass beta tester effort. LOL
Nigel & YJ
Both of you are spot on. I agree there will be some growing pains, and painful they may or may not be. However, I also agree that what we have been given a chance to view & use will not be the absolute end result.
I see a lot of folks saying that this is becoming an arcade game or similar such comments, It was always an electronic version of a real world sport, and never an actual sport. Does that mean that we dont take it seriously? I think the players are split (at what percentage I have no idea) into 2 groups; group 1 are the folks who use this as a creative diversion to relax and play a game, while group 2 views this game as a mountain to climb and conquer. Which group am I in? Truth to tell, I am in both. I use the game to relax and kill time but I am by nature a very competitive person so I do want to conquer this mountain. LOL
With that in mind and the fact that WGTChamp all but begged for our views and constructive suggestions on the new platform. Cmon folks we are always pissing and moaning that WGT does not listen to us. Well now they have asked for our help in analyzing and improving the new platform.
I would like to recommend that all the naysayers take a deep breath and actually list some things they would like to see altered/improved/changed.
