Thanks a lot Scott, i really appreciate all your help :))) I`m going to download "netframework" from Microsoft also and try again, apparently that needs to be in/on my PC to get it to work.

    Cheers

    Bjorn

I was trying to get a answer which net Framework. Net 3.5 ad Net 4.0

Looked it up on Microsoft`s page, as far as i can telll the latest version is 4.7.1. Will try that one or wait a few months due to the end of upgrades and support for Windows 7 and then install Windows 10 on my pc.

    hi

    ScottHope:

Bjorn, if you are still struggling with the installer install, I have uploaded the game files to my Google drive which cuts out the need for the installer.

    Golf DATA

    Golf EXE

The golf data is a folder with 130MB's worth of files in. Click the link to go to my Google drive and click the download all button. Google drive will bundle all the files up into a zip folder and download it to your PC. Double click the downloaded zip folder to unzip it, so that it becomes just a normal folder containing all the files (about 70ish).

Next, click the golf exe link. This is just one file. Once it has downloaded, double click it to run it, and hopefully the game should start.

Each time you want to run the game, you will need to double click golf exe file on your PC.

If you want easy access to the golf exe file, right click the file and select pin to taskbar or start menu, so it's readily accessible.

hi scott i downloaded new game yesterday from wgt champions first page entry and everything seemed to be there and seemed ok. went to some apparel page which was a nightmare but finally got out of it and managed to get a game of sorts which some hack quit after 4 shots. so didnt really enjoy the whole experience(graphics, apparel, pro shop etc etc) anyway being a glutton for punishment and accepting i need to adapt to this new age i decided to give it a go today so i double click on the new app and it say files no longer supported and it disappeared???????????????? also yesterday my bulldog security kept telling me to avoid website etc etc???? im on a laptop with windows 7 and am a computer thicko :)  any tips would be gratefully recieved

    Scott,

As ALWAYS you go above and beyond helping everyone !! That being said I am holding off even looking at any of this "new" format stuff at this point ...(Old dog new tricks) I guess..But my question is ....Do I still have till December 2020 to play the game the way we always have? As according to Chrome they will stop supporting FLASH around that time....                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Thanks,JD

    YankeeJim:

    Wutpa:
I'm happy something, anything is being done for PC players quite frankly, and that there is something for us to test out ahead of the final switch-over. I don't much like it yet, but I haven't had the chance to tinker with it. The original Flash game took time too.

Spot on, Nigel. There's 15 months to the ostensible end of Flash and I have no doubt what we see then won't be anything near what we're fortunate enough to get a peek at now.

Nothing has changed on the PC version-you can play along like nothing ever happened. However, there's now a link on your desktop to something that will eventually be the way it is. It's a unique opportunity to get a jump on what's to come and the claims of "I ain't...." will soon turn to  "OK, I can handle this." Maybe use it to get your CDP, or something for now. It's going that way and I don't see a suitable substitute so what's to lose?

I found this game when Links started slowing down and now I'm looking at another game when this one dies, sorta. Big advantage being able to eyeball the progress and still have what I know.

Get through the growing pains, we'll all be having it right soon. Consider this a mass beta tester effort. LOL

    Nigel & YJ

Both of you are spot on. I agree there will be some growing pains, and painful they may or may not be. However, I also agree that what we have been given a chance to view & use will not be the absolute end result.

I see a lot of folks saying that this is becoming an arcade game or similar such comments, It was always an electronic version of a real world sport, and never an actual sport. Does that mean that we dont take it seriously? I think the players are split (at what percentage I have no idea) into 2 groups; group 1 are the folks who use this as a creative diversion to relax and play a game, while group 2 views this game as a mountain to climb and conquer. Which group am I in? Truth to tell, I am in both. I use the game to relax and kill time but I am by nature a very competitive person so I do want to conquer this mountain. LOL

With that in mind and the fact that WGTChamp all but begged for our views and constructive suggestions on the new platform. Cmon folks we are always pissing and moaning that WGT does not listen to us. Well now they have asked for our help in analyzing and improving the new platform.

I would like to recommend that all the naysayers take a deep breath and actually list some things they would like to see altered/improved/changed.
