wtf has happened - I can't hit a shot in any browser! Chrome, Firefox, Explorer - none of them smooth... but no doubt, wgt won't reply to one of my very few posts again... :(
I am not WGT but I may be able to shed some light on your problem and offer a little help. First, in the past 2 weeks Adobe has updated flash twice. And sometimes a newer version of flash doesn't work well with some browsers.
A couple of things you might try if you haven't yet. #1 download gamebooster 2 from Iobit. It really helps smooth out the meter. The basic program is free and the premium version is something like $20 . #2 try either Chrome Iron which is a stripped down version of chrome which seems more stable for this game than Chrome. or Comodo Dragon both are in my opinion better than any of the other browsers. One thing that makes Dragon so good is that within a week of an Adobe Flash update they release a new version of Dragon. Most of the other browsers might update about once in every 6 months or so. Also i have found that it is best to use a dedicated browser to play WGT, That is to say use the browser to play WGT and nothing else. The only thing I use Dragon for is to play WGT. I use Chrome for everything else.
Another thing that might help is keeping your video drivers up to date. Out dated video drivers can create havoc with flash based games like WGT.
