Last night at RSG i purposely put the aimer straight at a bunker instead of down the middle of the fairway, i had a 18mph tailwind, the bunker was 285 yards to the front edge, my drive didn't clear it, my 2 playing partners both aimed down the middle and their shots flew 45 yards further in the air than mine.

I will say it again, this is not a bug or a glitch, it is WGT's own software doing this on purpose when you have a shot that requires you to carry the ball over trouble, e.g. bunkers, water, rough etc................

WGT, you need to reduce the capacity your VEM has on the game and let players stuff their own shots up, and let the good shots be good shots.

So remember guys, if you can avoid having to aim directly at trouble then this no spin thing wont happen....................

I've been saying the same thing for awhile Greg. It seems more prevalent when you absolutely HAVE to make the carry. Accordingly, I have been trying to place my aim point and my tee shots into a "safe" zone rather than attempting the shot I know will provide the highest reward should I pull it off.

The only other thing I can equate it too is on some shots when that 11 mph crosswind seems to die off just before it pushes my ball back enough to make the fairway. It's almost as though something is there saying "NOPE!"

I'm thinking it's WGT's way of trying to keep this game realistic to the real game and to be honest they'll be restricted in the way the programmers achieve this.

I'd rather they tweaked the game so sub 60's were virtually impossible to score.

Maybe we'll just have to avoid possible hazards and go for the safer option to birdie holes.

It's still an annoyance seeing drives nosedive short though.

I dinged 2 drives on St Andies #4 with 18mph tailwinds yesterday and they did not even clear the front rough off the tee. Sure they hit the fescue/rough and skipped out thundering down the fairway, but that's not the point.

I just put this theory to test as well and purposely aimed directly over bunkers 4 times and not once did i have a problem clearing....lots of BS.

So that theory is shot as well. There is an inconsistency here somewhere but WGT is not trying to make it so we can not clear trouble or i am sure it would have done something on one of those attempts.

    FlyinDoc:
Chris, TBE, I understand the glitches you guys have. I get those ones too. But can we stick to the No Spin Glitch on this one post at least? A couple of more days of playing without conceding putts, and I haven't experienced a single glitch. Genorb thinks it's not the cause, but does anybody else have anything constructive to say?

I concur with this theory as Doc and I played an MPC this morning and indeed after each conceded putt, the following tee shot had no backspin even though both of us hit our drives will full backspin applied.  Whomever conceded the putt had the glitch on the following tee shot.  If i remember correctly we each only conceded one putt to the other, the rest of the match every other putt was made.

Well I just played a Skins game on Bethpage.

3rd hole dinged the drive.....pin was 240 yrds away on the left....

Now as far as I'm aware....there is no other way to play the 3rd hole at Bethpage with that pin placement other than driving over the bunkers. It's a shot any golfer in real life would do as standard therefore it's not an all or nothing shot.

My 3wd 232 yrd  dinged drive nose dived 210 yrds almost straight off the tee and into the front bunker like a guided cruise missile. the 11 mph right to left cross wind did nothing...and I got so mad I just forfeited the match and the credits even though the match was all square and I could have easily saved par, but that's not the damn point. I've almost had it with this game....the problems seem to be getting more and more to be honest....when they should be getting less and less.

So there goes the "concede putts" glitch theory as you cannot concede putts in skins games.

It's getting to be worse than useless.

    TBE

Cappiest......... i didn't say it will happen every time but when you have to aim at trouble that's when it can happen, it NEVER happens when you dont have to clear the crap.

And to TBE........... around 232 yards full backspin is what i hit every time there with any cross breeze and it 's really close depending on the click, the only other time this spin glitch happens is on the tee of the par 3's..............

Time to cut this crap out of the game WGT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the easiest fix for this bug is to remove the concede button and I would bet the backspin problem will go away.

Ah, but where it's random in single play, it's consistent enough in AS play to make it a friggin game strategy. First hitter up after the concede better play for it until it's fixed.
