OK, thanks for all the suggestions and advice guys. I'm still kinda torn. I've only just got the credits to buy something now and I want to make sure I spend them in the right way.

Any votes for the SuperTri? And I'm now Level 78. Should I hold on for the R9 at Level 80 or is the Level 62 one a better bet?

I've looked around the forums and am seeing contrasting views everywhere - is it just a case of whatever suits the player best? All three are pretty similar, so does it really matter that much which one I get?

    Jack.

Absolutely babe. Only you know your own style. Your style doesn't have to match anyone else's.

Well cricket , any extended yardage will always be a positive. However , I would advise that you go back and compare their meter speeds. One of the very best things I ever did for my own game was to match all  meter speeds from top to bottom.  IRL , good ballstriking comes directly from muscle memory , as it will here.  When your driver doesn't match your irons, or irons do not match your wedges , your just asking to spray approach shots.  Differing speeds =  no memory.   Matching speeds = "ding".

                                                                                                         GL Cricket ,           Ace

Ace hit it on the head with this comment. I have only been playing a few months but wanted to make sure to have simular speed for the exact purpose Ace has said. I have the level 60 Ping G-10 set, a great deal as a package and does me well. I see no reason why I should have to upgrade until I hit  legend down the road whenever that may be lol.

I 'really' occured to me that i need a new driver when i attained Master.

I'm so wishy washy about this. I got the Ping Rapture 3 & utility woods so i suppose I'll get the best Rapture driver. Like it was said , i want the consistant swing meter.

Maybe if I can manage to squeeze a few bucks extra I should look at a full matched set and stop the club shoppin.

I really need to upgrade this dang putter I can see,,u know,,drive for show,,put for doe?

But seriously, I want a driver that i can manage control and get the distance I need.

I was really looking at the G-15 ping driver,,be nice to poke it 260 ave. or so, I'm not into tourneys that much so ,,,,

I don't wanna rent clubs because i'm cheap,,i wanna use that credit for the club. I have the Raptures,,that's the smartest thing i can do is match my clubs the best i can.

You're right in thinking there's plenty of personal preference when it comes to clubs but the L80 R9 is a great driver.  I'm using it with legend balls and in most conditions can fly the ball around 300 yards.

I should be able to get the R11 tomorrow, whether it will be much better is another matter but it's there, I'll have a high enough level and enough credits so I've gotta get it.

Ok,,i just went and bought the R-11.

First hit,,nailed it,,280 yards. Nice,,,I'm awe struck lol. this tells me that i can ave 275 with this driver and the meter speed matches the Rapture fairway woods tempo.

So Bubbacrusher can live up to his name lmao. Now,,the irons,,critically important.

I'm thinking I want something real pro with shot shaping to them. What's the consesus on irons folks? Ping or Taylor made for the guy that wants to become champion of the wgt circuit?

But I'm really loving this R-11 driver,,you are gonna have lots of fun with it i know i have already. The first 3 holes at Kiawa island,,,birdy birdy birdy,,,unbelievable,,i left & saved the round just to come & post this to recommend,,,this driver will "Get her done".

the ping goes farther like 270 ave.

I purchased this R-11 driver and i have 'no' buyers remorse whatsoever.

I just made "Master" with a driver that ave 235: the Ping G-10 with more loft.

So I agree in the case where you encounter a hurricane head wind 'yes' the Ping 270 8.0 of loft.

Keep in mind,,the less loft,,the less control that you are gonna have overall. I rarely underhit a driver i.e. i usually hit a full shot,,I don't want the G D thing goin all over the place,,i want that ball in the short grass on my approach.

I'll go rent the g10 & give it a try, i thought about trying both clubs before i buy but i feel that the rental fee is draconian so...to hell with that.

But it's nice to get feedback on these clubs as it's a hard decision buying cyber clubs you can't lay your meathooks on and feel.

    Peace & cheers
