OR, and here is a novel idea:

mix them up a bit. Have a couple of single play qualifiers. That way everyone is happy.

WGT get their cash from the unlimited and us moaners with no patiece can just wait for the single plays to come around.

The type of legend that keeps coming back for me in unlimited probably has a stash of credits in the bank anyway, it's not as though their multiple goes costs them credts.

It is nice hitting from the shorter Tees, this is where the low scores are coming from. Maybe lessen the time for Qualifying. I  really couldn't be bothered playing more than 3 or 4 attempts, or even keep on restarting the game,If I make it, it'll be great but if I don't it doesn't matter.  I shot a 58 on me 2nd round in the British Open Qualifying, couldn't break the 60 after that...lol. Not to worry, next year.

    Cheers

       Roger

Edit: Pfft "us" legends... cant speak for myself since ive got a long way to go to get their, what i meant was im sure legends would like to get a few chances to play from shorter tees once in a while.

    Poor save.

Your score history pretty much proves my point.

This should be reported to WGT.  His 5th ranked round was a 29.  That's rediculous.

Especially since some are TM tees which gives us legend a nice flashback.

His account and comments do speak for themselves.  I hope WGT is looking at this.

In terms of the qualifier tournaments I would prefer that they are not unlimited but not single play either.  It would be nice to eliminate the restart ability on these and have them so say a dozen attempts is the max and if you quit it counts for one try.

I have done it and I know most everyone has, you post a good solid round and then play the first four holes, if you aren't four under you quit and start again.  My exception to this was at RSG for the Open, I was 2 under after four and thinking I should restart, made 14 straight birdies to post my lowest round, to me the flow of the game tends to get disrupted when I restart constantly.

However WGT is in the business of selling playing time, which means purchases of balls, clubs, etc. and hits for their advertising partners so they have no incentive to limit the amount of attempts.  Frankly I don't think the unlimited attempts favor any group, the cream rises to the top anyway but I would like to see a limit on it.

Ya know, that's a pretty good idea.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, folks will (and can) play practice rounds anyways, be it one or a 100.  I think when there is a large prize up for grabs, no one would just take their X-number of qual attempts at it and hope for the best, without trying to hone in on the course before hand.

i.e. Even in the Deviation CC Challenge, many practiced the courses all week and posted on the weekend...the prize there is bragging rights.

The added pressure of a limited number of quals should be part of the game, just like the pressure of a RG or MPC game.

Just a thought ...  instead of the "Top 100" making it into these events. Why not set the "cut" at 10 strokes back?  Leader sits at 53 making 63 the cut etc etc.

Most of these, if not all of the "big events" draw out all of the elite players in this game. I'm no statistician but I'd dare say, there's prolly a minimal of 5-6 strokes separating #1~#100.

At least this way, the grinders can pound out endless rounds & balls striving to get their name on top of the leaderboard. While many others that do not have the time to commit, would be incredibly happy making the big tournament and having that 1 shot to shoot that 1 magical round.

Just imagine the equipment sales leading up to it with many more players involved in the finale.

    Just my Loonie.
