bobyero:
Have been comparing my stats with some of the better players and found that my % made from 25 - 50ft putting stats is 1.15%. This doesn't sound like much but compare it to fmagnets (0.43%) and Young46 (0.48%). The best i could find is Yiannis1970 (0.78%). Is it because I get more practice at that distance? I have always used a starter putter and ball.
Does anyone have a better % than 1.15?
The number given is reflecting how many of your holed putts have been from that distance, not how many of your putts from that distance you have holed. If you could compare the latter all of the named players would have a higher percentage than you.
Or to just compare with Mags (with made up numbers) I can't imagine his approach finishing that far from the pin often say once every three rounds and say he holes 1 in 4 of them, that would be 1 in 12 rounds or 108 holes. That would be 0.93%. of his holed putts being from that distance.
In your rounds you finished that far from the pin twice a round on average = 24 times and holed the putt twice. That would be 2 of 108 holed putts and 1.85%. The more relevant stat (not given by wgt) would be he holed 25% of his while you holed 8.33% of yours.
More to the point, since the idea is to putt as few times as possible, he has 72.04% one putts while you have 41.81%.
