My guess is that it's nothing more exotic than the 150 yd marker (judging by the distance shown on the aiming mark). I think it's the camera angle that makes it look so odd.
Of course, Kiawah being an ocean-course, maybe they use dead fish for their 150-yd markers? In that case, dead fish it is! lol
Looks like the head of a Tremor that was rolled over by a steamroller.
No idea why there woudl have a been a steamroller on the course though.
