It was a year ago tomorrow that WGT game us a sneak peak at # 2 at Congressional and made the announcement that the 2011 Virtual U.S. Open would be played @ Congressional. Could an announcement be coming soon about next year's Open. Just a thought.

Mister WGT confirmed on his Twitter page a few days ago that production of the Olympic Club Course is already underway.

    Nice one. Similar flyovers here

Really looking forward to this course. The 18th is supposed to be one of the greatest short par fours in all of golf and the course looks interesting.

Only one fairway bunker on the entire course (6th) and no water hazards (a plus for anyone using Callaways), despite being called the "Lake Course".

Both of those flyovers show three par 5s but I would bet that the course plays as a 70 for the US Open, with one of the par 5s being played from the Ladies tees.

Anyway, hopefully we'll have a sneak preview in the near future, eh WGT?

    Jack.

The course setup will play as a par 70 for next year just as it did in '98.  However, there will be a flip flop of holes changing par - the 1st hole which played as a short par 5 will now be a long demanding par 4, and the 17th which played as a MONSTROUS uphill par 4 will now be a relatively short but sneaky tough par 5 if you miss in the wrong spot.  The 16th will also play as the longest hole in U.S. Open history at somewhere around 660 yards.  Gonna be a great day when this course is available.
