ForrestLeigh:
So - back on page 1 my original post was about the deviation of the wind - I don't think if I had the winds described back there at Kiawah I could have shot 28's in succession like your scores around the 11th,I had 20+ tailwinds on the long 3's with champ greens, 20+ headwinds on the long 5's no eagle chance,20, +tailwind on 4 and not great directions on other holes
Not missing the ding, or missing when I wanted too in a round to get those great scores with the occasional jumpy meter, isn't something I can do consistently either, I guess you've mastered that too
I know what you're saying about b/s or rolling up but some holes you can't get close too consistently if the winds are wrong - or maybe you can - it looks like you've found a way to beat the game - you've become the phil taylor of golf, the rest of us just need to wait for you to retire now
Agree with you 100% about the high winds. When you get a bad windset, there is nothing you can do but do your best. I've shot a 28 in kaiwah heavy winds when they were good and helping, when putts were rolling in and a 36 when a tough windset. Thats just the nature of high wind readygos. I enjoy high winds readygos, with good winds you can score better than with low winds as some par 5's get real short and par 4's are driver / wedge to the pin. when you get a bad wind you may have a 7-8 stroke worse performance.
Below is all my high winds at kaiwah and rsg play readygo play . 2 course I enjoy specifically because of the high wind challenge. You rarely see me playing the same tracks in the low wind readygos. From best score score to worst was a 8 shot difference on 9 hole kaiwah and 11 shot difference on 18 hole rsg
In this round at rsg 1000, http://wgt.com/tournaments/leaderboard.aspx?id=7168912b-86e2-499d-9d7d-9f8f016ecc6f Bollox shot a 53 and I shot a 63. I played one of my best rounds to get that 63 as Ihad a bad windset. One hole in partcular, I hit driver, 3w, and was left an 89 yrd approach into 30mph wind on a par 4. Just nothing you can do about that. The round that I shot a 54, it was a dream windset and the winds helped me on just about every hole.
