Well then Im done . I`m not going to sit around watching a clock for half of a day just to play a tournament .

That's fine.  I wasn't going to reply, but I feel I should.  I spent a lot of time setting this up, trying to make it as easy as I could for everyone.  I'm regularly checking this thread, updating leaderboards (including going back in the thread in case any moderated posts have been posted), trying to help players who are having issues in either getting games arranged or posting scores.  I do no wish to be working out whether a score is for this week, next week, last week, or 3 weeks time; you have a week to play each round and all I ask is that you play it within that week, it doesn't have to be right on the dot of the start of the round, but it does have to be after the start of the round.  I don't think that's too much to ask.

(Post edit in italics, just to make things clear).

I play according to my free time schedule . Even though Im disabled I still have a life and things to do . At the top of each post you will find both date and time and within each thread posted the player tells you both course played type of play and score . So keeping track of whats going on shouldnt be that hard . You called me out for being 5 1/2 hours early but then say it doesnt have to be on the dot of the start of the round .

I was trying to make it as easy as possible by simply playing and posting a score as soon as possible. I also wasnt going to reply but conversation is the key to understanding .

Sorry Ionniescott but I be a 100% with Mio.

Running tourneys and keeping track of everything really is a demanding task - so there have to be rules. Just that.

Once you enter the tourney you accept those rules. No need for further discussion.

Impossible to keep strings together when every participant starts asking for individual recognition...

Thanks again Mio for spending all your time and efforts. Great job!

Well Tom it doesnt matter as to what you think or how you feel . I know what I accept and dont need you  to explain anything to me about playing in a tournament . Also nowhere in any of my posts have I asked for any special or individual recognition .

Like I said Im done and its over . I`ve  had my fun and this is the only time that I truly play anymore . So until next year good luck to all remaining players . Play well have fun and keep it on the short grass . :-)

Round 3 of the stroke play event at Merion is over (shouts of joy!).  25 players are through to round 4 at Pinehurst.  64 (-6) is required to progress, good luck to all.

Got an early-morning round in at Pinehurst.  Managed a 9-under 61 despite a 3ft missed putt for a 3-putt bogey on the par 3 15th.

I find those last 2 par 3's weird these days.  In the early days of playing this course they seemed easy birdies, but now I never seem to be able to reach the distance to the pin on the 15th, and the dots on the green seem to be lying on the 17th.  Today on the 15th (202yds, 2yds downhill(?)), with a 11-13 wind at 11'clock, I hit 193 with half bs, and the ball went 193, 9 yards short of the pin!  Seems the wind did nothing!  Then on the 17th, can't remember the exact yardage but it is a little over 200yds, 9-11 wind at 5 o'clock, I hit 205 with a bit of bs, and the ball carries 211yds!  Then the putt on the 17th - it seemed very flat, with just one or two dots moving very slowly left to right.  I tried to miss the ding a fraction early, but the meter accelarated fast through that point and I clicked about 7-8mm right of the ding.  The putt should have missed way right of the hole, but instead it went in!  Makes no sense!  Surey the precision spec shouldn't have that much effect?

But anyway, each week of getting through now is another week in the competition.
