    OMGWTFDUDE:

What kind of bs operation are you running here seriously? I am spending $3 for a pack of balls that last as about as long as a ice cube on the sidewalk in July, only to have the worst lag I have ever seen in any online game that causes me to lose these $3 balls, what a joke! I played pga 2000 13 years ago, 13 YEARS AGO (OLD SOFTWARE) and (OLD TECHNOLOGY)  But yet they had a AWESOME METER! Go figure. They didn't charge money for clubs and balls, it was all free but yet there was no lag, hmmmmm, maybe because there was no money to be made? hmmmmmm

    Dear friend

WGT is a bussines site of corse they most to make money  from the shop and the game is for free, and it cost a lot WGT site to make place to play every one .

    whit all due respect

The story is you used to have problems with this game until you started making changes to your PC, you adapted to WGT's game,  to get a smooth meter.

No problem on agreeing to disagree as soon as you get it right. I did not make changes to my computer to play this game. It is not a barebones setup by any means, just cleaned up and free of garbage. It still runs my business, operates my comprehensive design program and  handles my Quickbooks. Playing golf on it is a bonus, not the reason I have it.

I think it's absurd to think a computer right out of the box should be able to do much of anything without some initial setting up. You need to be very computer literate to understand your workarounds (hoops) whereas my simple diligence makes mine work for me.

My apologies to the OP for sidetracking this thread. All I did was ask a simple question, yet to be answered. :-I

The only complaint I have is the long load time between screens , like going to reverse view  when putting, going to a camera to move the marker to set up a shot, WHY I mean I am talking 10 maybe 14 seconds.
2  questions Gary....Do you have your browser set to delete cache  at exit ? Or , do you manually clear your cache on a daily basis ? If your answer is yes , I advise to re-read WGTalex's statements in system requirements. You need to maintain (KEEP) a good cache , otherwise , you are constantly having to re-compile new game files. I have read sooo many say--> "I clear my cache every day" ,  well , if that's the case , don't complain about slow loads because she explained it very clearly and it has been right over there----------> for years.

                                                                                                               Ace

Thanks Ace, yes I am one that clears my history , and cache everyday. So you are saying that might be the problem? I will give it a try and not clear out anything for a couple of days and see if that fixes the problem.

I got everything on and mine runs fine, Dont ask me the techno mumbo jumbo; But its an $800 computer, with no added crap. I must say though that i do have a great ISP provider at 100mbs. The only lag on loading i get is when im watching the other players little circle spin incessantly out of control. Just my 2 cents; thought i would pitch in. Not trying to cause any grief, but maybe check out another ISP provider.

Whatever you say boss.  Yet you still recommend other people change their msconfig, browser, etc. etc. etc. to play this game.  You never answered (clever) what other hoops you jump through?   Never mind, file it under simple diligence.

I agreed to disagree.  But you haven't obviously.

For those interested in changing their msconfig file to smooth out their meter YJ's directions are in  this thread from November 2009!  That's how long this meter lag has been going on.

I like the discourse, Andy. The problem is you're twisting things out of shape. I did answer about the hoops. Read closely, I'll spell it slow for you.  I   do   not   jump   through  a  single   one   of   your   hoops  to   play   this   game.  No infinity, no core this or that, no gamebooster , no messing with the msconfig file  (once 3 years ago.) There, does that answer the question?

I like your smarts and learn a lot from you but you're making one bigass federal case out of the meter and I'm the proof. I don't do a single thing you suggest yet I'm the one without the issues. Puzzling.

You once switched browsers to Chrome.

You once switched browsers to Iron.

    You switched to Dragon.

You don't have other browser windows open.

You don't have reflections turned on.

    You optimized your msconfig file.

You used to run with affinity set (I don't know what else changed so you don't need to now.)

You are the exception, your computer is the exception. This is not about you and your smooth as a baby's butt meter.   Why a federal case? There's tons of complaints about the meter.  There's people playing the game with stutter because they are not computer literate and (I can't blame them) don't want to be.  Why should 10,000 or 20, 000 or even 50,000 players be required to jump through hoops to play this game?

The answer is so WGT developers can sit at their computers sucking down Red Bulls, because there's a deadline to meet on the next silly addition (read friend challenges,  baseball playoff balls, (insert your favorite silly feature here), or sped up avatar swings), and not spend time fixing the meter lag because of inefficient design and programming.

I'm sure, positive, there are things WGT can do to improve the game load on our CPUs. Why don't they fix it?   There's just no money in it.  (I think that's wrong btw, a smooth meter keeps more members.)  Or, shudder, its intentional that the meter stutters.

Its not all our PCs fault.

I have been around this site for a couple of years now and have seen this debate rage on and on, ONE thing is indisputable, some players have meter issues, and some do not. That alone would indicate that WGT is largely not responsible, if they were, ALL of us would have problems. I know that at the start of my career here I did have my share of meter issues, but have since moved my location, gotten a new computer, switched from sattlelite to ADSL, and now use Comodo as my game client browser, I simply haven't had any problems worth mentioning. I am not a computer whiz by any means so I don't give advice (except recommending Comodo). It is clear to me that are so many variables at work here, that no single one of them is to blame, IMO.

Funny, why isn't Comodo on WGT's suppported browser list?  WGTIcon?  And IE, which everyone says sucks for this game, is on the list?

And Andy? You didn't mention your internet speeds.

    Oh yes I did!

    andyson:
    I'm connected to a 25Mbps cable modem

    Can't you measure speeds then?
