I have never tried it, how do you have to hit it? I have the 64.

64 wedge on green, full shot, full back spin =27 yards depending on type of ball used, wind, how much of an incline  the hole sits on(all solid variables)full shot w/top spin around 33 yards( apply same variables)

    ...

for me with the CG16 64°(L31+) full shot full B/S and callaway z ball goes 28yrds and stops dead (depending on variables)

Kinda reminds me of the old drunk I caddied for when I was a kid.

He smashed his putter against a tree on the 6th hole and broke it.  He then putted with his driver for the rest of the round due to that silly rule that says you can't replace or modify a club during a round.

And the bottom line on this whole putting with your wedge (or driver) thing?  It ain't how.....just how many.

lol i love using wedge on the green. u cant put a stop to something like that. its allowed. google can you use wedge on green and the answer is yes. also ernie els is good for doing it so twitter him and tell him not to do it. the problem with the ones complaining is that they are mad that i can get it closer to hole with a wedge than they can putting. REAL TALK

In real life there is no regulation.

I have putted with a 3 iron when the run travel both left and right. Using this technique takes the first third of the roll out of play, so I only needed to take one pitch into consideration.

Well back when I was a junior as a punishment for not completing our round our club pro told us that the next round we played  we had to choose to take out either our woods or our putter  from our bag. I chose the putter and used a wedge to putt all day by just using the blade. So using a wedge on the green is perfectly legal.

    zagraniczniak:
The wedge could certainly come in handy in WGT if you're at the bottom of the green on the 4th at St. George's, or blocked by the bunker on the Road Hole, or on the wrong half of any of those double greens at St. A's.

Every time I've tried it failed to work very well. Must be a "trick" to it.

No trick to it, just need to practice it so you know the distances.

Full shot with 64 or 60 wedge will go Approx half the rated distance. I.E. clev64 full shot says 60yrds, with Full B/S goes 28 yrds and stops dead (for me).

But IMO only used when Putt distance is over 60ft, or with up/down left/right (multiple) breaks, or blocked by bunker/Fairway.

For Example I was in a skins game ad on the 11th StA I shanked a shot to the far right side of the green the other 2 landed short and had +25 ft putts. I Used my Clev60 full shot full B/S and landed 1 foot from the pin and stopped dead.

in the "right" situation it is a saving shot!

    Here is an example shot:

Ready-Go, on the green, St Andy's, 41 ft putt, Tournament greens, lands 4 inches from hole to save par!
