I want to step in here and say my two cents.  I know WGT is not a non-profit company so they are here to make money.  At this point they have taken a step in a different direction in pricing.  At 4.50 for 36 to 37 holes per ball so about 6-18 hole rounds and 12 9 hole rounds.  Officially they are able to charge for playing golf.  Yes, I know that I don't have to use them.  Figure now that it cost you .45 and .75 cents for playing the nike a round.  Crazy when you think about.  On a good day I might play 7-9 rounds.  That means 4.50 dollars a day.  That means I will spend around 1,200 dollars a year.  If I don't play any ready go's  and make some money thats asking too much for a online game.  Right now I am average about .40 cents in profit for an rg.  So in reality I am now going to have to play nearly ten rg's a day to play for free.

I might have to go out and buy a PS3 at those prices.

I want to like the Nike balls, really like the meter, but as a backspin junky,  have terrible time predicting the distances.

Admittedly ,these nike balls will do things that the lvl35 calls just aren't capable of doing.  When coupled with the r11s will stick the greens like a wedge shot.

For me and style I play, even if they cost exactly the same $$$ I'd still prefer the call 35lvl Z call balls.

    skccvb:

I was gladly paying $3.25 a sleeve for Callys - yes, the Nikes cost an additional 41.6 cents each.

Well, if you're spending your money on vapor then I guess the extra buck is no biggie. Another way of looking at it is that 18 holes with a Nike ball costs about 50 cents. (assuming it lasts the same as other 2.5 dot balls)

Throw in a couple of lost balls, and 4-5 hours of WGT with Nikes costs about as much as an afternoon round at the local muni.

The balls perform great but it really is outrageous pricing when you think about all the people who play the game with meter issues.  I personally dumped 3 balls in 9 holes tonight all on meter crap.  The slower meter certainly isn't enough to combat 7 spikes a side.

Could certainly justify the expense if WGT was investing the income into improving performance of the game but we all know that's just not the case.  Why?  The answer is quite simple....they chose Flash as the platform and they haven't the slightest clue how to fix it, even though almost everybody's systems exceed their suggested computer specs.

me too Baggese, always use starters for CTTH, the plopping sound of hitting water always brings a smile to my face.

This has certainly put me even further away from competing in RG's cos I ain't spending real money on virtual balls that cost more than balls in RL.

At least you are getting something. All I get is a blank page that says please report a problem.

    I wish they'd introduce a Nike vapor @ $5/sleeve now.

    Just saying.

No, we don't have to use the new balls.

    And the rich get richer.

The players that have bankrolled credits, that are playing with house money, are going to use those balls.  So, those of us that don't have a won-credit bankroll, that have to spend out of pocket for balls, can either pay up for the new balls, or play at a disadvantage in pretty much all events.  I'm glad I stopped playing all the premium events here.

Give me another 1.5 dots of durability and I'll play it for $4.50 a sleeve.

And I intended no offense to the autistic or apes.  It's just my opinion that an autistic ape would do a lousy job of pricing.  I do give WGT too much credit in that regard, in that the ape would err on the player's side on occasion.

I've played a few more games with the Nike's.  I also found that I was hitting good shots, but not getting good scores. Just had to get use to em.

Today's games have been allot better, the worst part of me game is my approach shots and I'm starting to get within the 3-5 yrd range instead of the 3-20yd range..lol, using the Nikes (not every hole, but it's a start). They are lasting longer(at the moment) than the Legend Callaways I was using too.

As I said before, the cost is expensive in relation to the game, but what the heck...if you want the best (not saying the balls are the best) you have to pay for it. I think they are great.

I use to be a big gambler, spend 100/1000's of dollars on betting(not good), but not anymore. Spending a small amount of money on this game is nothing to me, because I enjoy it. Better than wasting me money on the horses or pokies(slot machines)...lol.

Saying that now, I have the extra few dollars to spend on the game.

The best thing about these..... they are giftable, unlike the Legend Callaways...lol

    Cheers

       Roger
