    Tess,

So why you and not me?  WGT has something against you?   WGT singles players out and slows down their game and messes with their meters?

    Just saying,

would seem wgt do single players out lol.

glad it's not just me :))

    1. Glad as hell I can't play for money

    2. Some days I feel I can't miss, other days...well, you get the point

    3. I miss the ding a WHOLE LOT more than I hit it, but score just fine, but...see #1

There's quite a bit of discussion about comparison to real life outcomes on the course. When I played (real golf) daily (held a 1.2 index), I knew if I didn't feel very well, I usually wouldn't score very well. We don't really have that in this game and sometimes, the way it's modeled is frustrating as hell because I might feel pretty darned good, have high expectations and still couldn't hit the water if I fell out of the canoe seemingly regardless of my ability at the time.

I've resigned myself to playing through the biorythmic WGT lows and trying more to enjoy the highs...as fleeting as they might be.

PS:  I am not saying all these big winners use aids or cheat, I only question myself as to whats within reason and human abilities, I have played competitive sports through out my life, and have seen some amazing feats, but never with the consistence that these big winners pull off.     Sorry if this Offended anyone, it wasn't intended to, but if the shoe fits??  LOL

You really have no clue.  You have been here for almost 3 years, roughly 1000 ranked rounds, or about 30 per month.  1 per day.   These guys play 10-20 per day.   Do you get that?  Thats some serious time and effort into a game.   These guys for the most part are close to scratch golfers and understand the game to its fullest here and IRL.

You can believe what you want, yes there are cheats, that is life, but there are a lot at the top, that just plain and simple are that good.   Search the forums for Bollox`s videos or Suncity.  You can watch in awe at just how good, and even learn something from it.

    Cheers,

    b0gey

I have always believed it does. Not because WGT is sitting on you and changing the game but because the tighter your game gets, the tighter THE game gets. The misses will hurt more. The tolerances for mistakes shrink and you're forced to play a more accurate game.
I agree Jim. I've noticed the consistency of this for quite some time now.

So  what about my 10 ft putt last night that showed a slight left to right break up hill I set up for it, hit the DING and it misses 2 cup lengths on the left. What is that if not being in a bad VEM cycle. Never had a putt go the wrong way by that much.

This isn't a deviation-it's a missed read or bad speed on the roll. While the ding is king, dinging a shot doesn't guarantee you make it. Everything else has to be right.

I don't know what caused this shot to go bad but it sure as hell wasn't a miss read. I have over 900 ranked rounds so I know what a miss read is and as to speed it stopped 2" I repeat 2" past the cup. A miss read would have been on the right side as that was what the break was showing.  A putt should not go against the break. I'm not one of those people who thinks WGT is out to get me but I do think they jack the game all the time maybe not much but enough for it to change from day to day round to round. VEM or what ever you want to call it changes the game IMHO.

I agree, it does in some fashion. It didn't change your putt-you just hit it too hard for the break you read. Look at the result. How can that possibly happen? Either you aimed too far left or hit it to hard for the break, or both. The number of rounds is immaterial as is the number of putts that goes with them. I do exactly what you described myself and can always come back to something I did wrong.

Haven't you ever had a putt that went straight as an arrow when it showed a break. Or a putt that broke when you couldn't see a break to save your ass. ? I certainly have, lots of them, so I'm doing something wrong on all those putts? Do you think the Vem affects putting?

Hmmmm? Love these forums that start somewhere and end elswere! The only thing i can say, is i never want to see this game go to a game of " Tiger Woods" or other "Playstation" types of unrealistic type scores! I've played some rounds where i should have been PUNISHED for some of my miss hits and have walked away unscathed. Maybe a 2 bars off the ding would be like a" toe " or "heel" type of shot that would come up short or whatnot. Especially chips, flops and pitches??? Fat or thin???? Just a thought.......

Sill love this game and only hope it evolves and gets tougher!
