Well I bought the new putter and its a great putter BUT the 60 foot scale for the putter is USELESS.

Honestly I think they made a mistake setting it up since the starter putter has a more useful scale.

See here for what I mean, http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/8756.aspx   basically BOTH the 60 foot and 90 foot putter have 12 foot avatar movements.

Well its rendundant.   Since you have 12 foot movements on the 90 scale, you really dont need it on the 60 scale.

The starter putter has 8 foot movements for the 60 scale and I was sure hoping to see them for this putter, they would have been much more useful IMO.

How are you supposed to judge any distance now between 6 and 12 feet?

This is why people love the 9 foot increments on the Redwood and that would be ideal since its in between the other two.

Erm ... half the distance if you're looking for 9 feet ... maybe not exact but it should be close ... i use avatar movements too ( a recent inclusion to my technique ) , but i also use scale division to determine strength of the hit ... i wish there was a graduated scale myself ... i use the daytona ...

Yeah that would sure be a guesstimate at best, something you cant afford to do with something as precise as putting.

Yeah I think especially with this putter a scale is needed, this will make putting much easier however and I think the general way to combat that if WGT is worried about it is to bring in a 3 click meter.

The main point of me making pointing out the hole between 6 and 12 feet is I think its laughable as even the starter putter is more useful in this regard.  Using a scale means this matters less but I am disappointed all the same.

Gotcha ... oh by the way someone did make a piece of software one time that added a scale graduation to the meter ... WGT was aware of it and i don't think they considered it a "cheat" of any kind ... if i remember correctly they just posted a general cautionary comment that anyone downloading third party software off of the net should be wary ... etc. etc. etc. ... can't remember what the name of the thread was and i don't think it's in my discussions ... oh well ... good day to you mr. jay ...

    don

P.S. ... i sure hope they don't institute a 3 click meter ... much easier to putt this way ...imo

I actually found that software (seen it in someones profile, cant remember who) but I'm scared to use it.  It does look harmless, just a scale actually but I have not tried it.  Maybe Mr. Niv can weigh in on the official opinion?

hehe your not kidding!  It will be much harder for sure, more realistic though ie taking a backswing that cant be paused and adjusted.

My main point on this one is if they think the scores are too low, then adding a 3 click meter would be better than a VEM or programed random shots of any kind to keep scores in check.

At least when you hit a bad shot you'll know why, just my 2 cents.   Happy shooting!

I have it and have tried it. It in no way shape or form affects anything in the game. It is a very tiny set of instructions that installs a transparent scale onto your desk top. It stays on top of everything you have open. When you open the game you literally drag it into place over the meter and presto-you have hash marks that mean absolutely nothing to anybody but you. It's like putting a piece of scotch tape on your screen and making hash marks on it. I think it's the nuts for players that want to have that sort of thing. I don't use it because I'm too lazy to stay wih it and I know my swing anyway.

I think it is very useful if you need a scale. I am sure WGT would not object-it isn't a process and doesn't violate the T & C.

Well the Rossa is out of the bag and the Spider is back in.

I just can't get the feel for it.   Lots of putts coming up short or blowing by the hole.
