If anyone buys and uses this putter please post your notes here asap in comparison to the Redwood.

I have been chomping at the bit since I joined here to buy a new putter and waited the last 2 weeks especially for this update to see what new clubs would be added. From looking at the specs, I only notice 2 differences with the Redwood.

    - New TM does NOT have a 45 foot increment, instead it has a 60 foot.

            So TM = 15, 30, 60, 90 & 150 and the Ping = 15, 30, 45, 90 & 150

    - New TM has a slightly slower meter, maybe a 2 on Nivlacs chart vs 3 Ping.

Oh forgot one more thing, the price is different, new TM 750 credits vs. 600. To me I think the Redwood is the better deal since main specs are the same and the meter is the most notable difference, but I have not tried either.

Eager to hear any reports but it looks accuracy, precision and balance all look the same.

I have just bought the TM putter after using the Ping Redwood since day dot.

you are right the attributes are the same. however the slower meter makes a huge difference to me. i now rarely miss the "ding" line and if  i do it is only by a pixel or 2, therefore IMO the accuracy/forgiveness is greater because it doesn't effect the putt too much if i miss by a small margin.

where as with the redwood meter speed, i either dinged it or missed by a few pixels causing the putts with hardly a break in to go well wide.

the 60ft increment is good too. there are 5 x 12ft movements dead which i find useful.

so my advice is buy the new TM putter. its worth paying 150 creds more for slower meter.

    hope this helps.

    Thanks for that quick report!

Yeah it looks like it comes down to preference with the meter speed.  With the starter putter I can barely ding the meter, I wonder if it is too slow sometimes and my itchy finger gets me into trouble.

This puts me a little on the fence.  I guess I'm going to buy one of the other clubs on my list first to judge how much I like the "3" for the meter speed.

NOW IF WGT WOULD GIVE US THAT PUTTING GREEN to try out the clubs first b4 buying.....

i think missing out on 45ft. meter could leave huge hole, how many putts do you really have over 45ft. #4 and #5 kia. is. come to mind here many putts of over 30ft. just a thought. thx JB

Yeah JB I was thinking the same thing about the 45 foot increment too.

It makes a huge difference if you ascribe to nivlac's way of putting (Putting Tips.) I use the 45 ft scale easily 5-1 over the others. It's accurate as all get out on 8-13 ft putts (one move on the putter, +/-).  It looks like this version is for players needing the slower meter and I'm sure it will make many happy. I swear by the Redwood.

Don't like it.  Meter was way to slow paired with my GI-SD balls.  Seem fine on accuracy and everything I believe, but just to slow for moi.  Couldn't ding the meter enough because it seemed like waiting for paint to dry.  Thought I would give it a whirl for a few rounds.  Missed way too many putts under 10ft and I didn't like the 60ft increment as much as I liked the 45ft option.

I'm sure others will enjoy it, but I'm going back to my trusty Redwood FTW ;)

I have used the Redwood for about a month. I tried the new Daytona on a quick 9 holes this morning. I'm not sure how much the slower meter helped my putting, but it definitely made it more difficult to time the meter on my subsequent tee shots (I use G10 Master eqpt) since I was moving from a relatively slow meter to a pretty fast one on consecutive shots. I'm not sure if it's worth $7.50 to move from the Redwood. But if you are using the Spider and trying to choose between the Redwood and the Daytona, the extra buck fifty is probably a pretty good deal since the adjustment you'll have to make on your putt meter timing is less.

Meter speed = A+: nice for me, i was usually late swing with Anser

    Distances = B: 60' & 90' are about same distances per move (12')

Price = C- Never am impressed with price for slow meter clubs.

VEM = D+ the meter doesn't close up to improve 'accuracy' like Anser does.
