There needs to be a practice green available, since putting is such a large part of the game.

Are you having troubles?  I have never understood this suggestion.

The only way to learn IMO is to play the game and to do so by playing the courses we have.

You have many chances to learn putting with a 10 shot max per hole.   Equip some starter balls and go nuts.   Not sure how rolling a ball on a putting green would serve you better.

Putting green would help because one could try several shots from same point6 and compare different ... shots.

I don't know b0geybuster, i think you wrong on this one. There is a reason that real golf courses have practice greens and the same reasons apply here.

I would like to see practice greens set up the same way. Where you can hit multiple balls from the same spot.

But only on a practice green - not on any green you would actually play on the course. In other words, as at a real practice green, you practice your general distance and aim etc., but you do not go up on the real course and hit specific putts over and over again.

I agree Zag-, Only on a set practice green. And just like on a real practice green there should be multiple holes and you should be able to pick from where you hit from.

    What do you think WGTIcon

Practice greens are used to warm up and figure out the roll of a green, the speed of the greens at a particular course.

We already know the roll of every green, rendering the practice green useless!

What is this fixation with a "practice green"?? We all have a practice option for any course and green speed we want! It makes much more sense to practice on the the actual course and greens in question, are you too lazy to hit to the desired green and take 7 or 8 puts if you want on the actual green you need practice on?

So...obviously some of you just show up at your local golf course and play!!!  So to all of you that think there SHOULDN'T be a practice green...I better not catch you at a real golf course practicing on a putting green...instead I want you to go to the clubhouse...and tell the 'starter' that you want to hit on to a green(because you are just practicing)...then take 10 putts all over the green...from where your previous 9 putts ended...and then finally try to sink your 10th putt!!!   RIDICULOUS...No not this post...but the idea that we don't need a putting green!!!  Man...where y'all from Urainus!!!  And I don't mean the planet !!!
