I have repeatedly read from numerous players of various skill levels this same old musty myth: slow meter clubs with excellent specs, even competitive at the legend tier, would make the game too easy, and would enable top players who already post insanely low scores to post yet lower, downright ridiculous scores, reminiscent of Tiger Woods Online.
The truth of the matter is, as long as those slow meter clubs, however good they may be, leave room for better, fast meter clubs that outperform them by some appreciable margin, the top players will ignore them, and stick with their top performers, which they handle masterly. Their scores will remain what they are, unless wgt decides to create an upper legend tier for sub-60 legends, with greater distances and generally harder conditions. The only ones who will benefit from the slow meter clubs in question will be lesser players who currently struggle with fast meter clubs, and post a variety of scores, ranging from poor to excellent, with the odd great one.
Take for example suncity28. His stats show that both his drives and approach shots are over 90% accurate. Mind boggling, I know. If someone were to listen to him play, he would hear more dings than he would at a casino. In other words, fast meter clubs do not phase him in the least, and the same could be said about other top players, like genorb, dansamcam, and bolloxinbruges. They will never give up the best available club performance in exchange for a slower meter, because they don't need to make such a compromise.
So in the final analysis, what change would result from the introduction of slower meter clubs with excellent specs, even competitive at the legend tier, tho not quite as good as their top performing fast meter counterparts? Nothing at the top, only below where lesser players would become a bit more competitive.
End of story.
