lol Dazza, will try 2 to do that next time on 12 ;). You're right about placing your approach, but still it's hard 2 find any 'straight' puttinglines.

Almost every green leaves u with a tricky putt. I think it's ok 2 have some tricky greens on every course, but this is just 2 much. Think in general a good approach should be rewarded and not punished.

I hardly ever have 3 putts, but on this course I've 1 or 2 a round. I really like the design of the course and I think i'm a reasonnably ok putter. But, it just ain't fun missing 5, 4 or even 3 ft putts.....and sometimes even 3putting them.

Well perhaps I should give it another try, we'll see ;)

    Cheers, GC

I don't know how WGT figure out where to put holes on the photographed courses, but most, with a couple of exceptions, are pretty fair and do tend to follow R&A or USGA guidelines about hole placement.

However, I would suggest that TruGolf, because their courses are computer graphics, they cut their holes wherever they want and do not follow guidelines laid out.  I have played courses in a number of different countries and have never seen any courses where holes are so stupidly placed as on Cabo and Whistler, and I would also hazard a guess that if you asked those clubs if they ever placed holes in some of those locations, their answer would be "No".

All I can think is that TruGolf are trying to make the game a little harder, and the only way of doing this is to place holes in difficult positions.

Couldnt disagree with the TS more. The greens are so tough that is what the challange is. I like the course because it is a tough sucker to read really challanging. If you dont want a challange there is other golf games and courses. May I suggest St Andys and KIA only from now on???, lol just kidding around but like six said some preety decent scores and people working round it I like the course is fun plus this is a Tru course not a WGT course I would prefer them working on WGT stuff the Trugolf stuff personally.

Funny thing is that the greens at TruGolf courses (Cabo and Whistler) are actually TOUGHER than the greens at Oakmont. The TruGolf courses have greens with very weird and quirky breaks that even Oakmont doesn't have. Oakmont's greens are tough but straightforward. Whistler's greens are tough but they're anything but straightforward.

Just gave it another try. Scored a nice 60, but still I felt shaky almost everytime when putting. Don't have this on any other course except a few holes. Again I missed a 2.9ft putt which in my humble opinion should had dropped.

Like DavidTomsFanatic said, the breaks are (2) quirky and in some cases just not rightly mapped.

    Cheers, GC

Our eyes in WGT are those moving dots, if they lie.. what are we supposed to believe? If it says it breaks left, you aim at the rim, ding and it goes straight and out, we r f... up!!!

I agree the moving dots on the greens at Whistler are not true......... had 2 putts today that went straight that showed a break. This is one of the problems with cartoon golf. Wgt should insist that True golf make the greens play like real greens. Not have your putts doing pinball moves. Have played it a few times and thought it is a pretty coarse with much better graphics than Cabo. To bad they can't make the greens better than Cabo.

Agree on the moving dots.  I had a putt that showed a left break from 6 feet and it went right...  Some of the views are just bizarre.. where you see the dots moving pretty quickly a hair to the left or right of your intended line, but the putts don't break.  Cabo is similar, but I've played that often enough to know which putts actually break and which ones don't.  Whistler's greens are much more severe... wait until they put championship greens on this sucker.. there will be 4 and 5 putts I'm sure!

I posted my feelings after my first round. Yes, I shot 61 with no bogeys, but the pin placements are a joke on at least half the holes. My next 3 rounds were RTG's and I had two bogeys in each round with 65 my best posted score. Three putted from 5ft several times. I just had another 61 with two three putts. Missed 5 fairways. Seems like some tees were moved back this time. You really have to be careful and check the slope past the hole to see if it gets worse. Pin placements are ridiculous but I enjoy this new course.
