I know there have been tons of posts regarding this, but I just wanted to know, is it actually against any of the rules of WGT?

Why doesn't WGT do what they did last year, where certain players are moved up to legend tier automatically. They can base this on skins, MPC matches and can obviously see which active players have just stopped playing ranked rounds.

    Just wondering...

    Nope.

It's not even against the rules of golf......just exceptionally bad sportsmanship.

Actually, yes -- sort of. I guess it's not a "rule," but more of a "policy"

    (News, Sept. 2010 pg 2)

Note, these new Tiers & Levels are not designed to address sandbagging (players misrepresenting their ability to gain advantage in tournaments and match play). While these changes will help make sandbagging harder and discourage "quitting" in multi-player games, we're working on other improvements to address sandbagging by monitoring score histories and sandbagging behaviors, and addressing violations to our community policies more aggressively.

    Thanks Leon,

Why doesn't someone look at these players and determine whether they should be promoted, or quite simply, include MP and skins in the formula to determine if a player should tier up.

That's the million dollar question that we just can't seem to get an answer to.

I believe I had my 1st expierience with a sandbag last night during a skins contest...this is where you find these guys. They a winning credits in challenge games...he was a level 89 tour pro. Our handicap and tier was virtually the same at 69+ problem was that the equipment he was using dwarfed my level 50 equipment. When your opponent get 30 yard down the fairway on you it doesent matter if you have the same skill. I even called him out on it.I think he knew exactly what I was bitching about.

Quick fix: Your tier should match what EQ you can buy instead of level, OR keep it as is except when you DO buy extreme EQ you can keep your tier, you just have to play from the tees they are meant to play...IT AINT THAT HARD WGT, its a problem, and you rake the challenge games so how about making them fair

I personally think the 2nd option is best, and easiest to put into action..You want that 282 yard club? hit it from the mans tees...In the mean time, Im watching very closely who I play in challenges. which is the best area in WGT since a guy cant leave you on the course robbing you of any EXP points you should be earning( another thing that needs to be fixed)...........

Never play against Tour pros that are high leveled. They will not post scores that allow them to reach master. They most likely play like a legend and simply stay at TP to take skins.

Each account is evaluated by several people and then discussed and decision is made. Most of the time it's clear if there is something nefarious happens.

I seen some level 90 tour pro's with 3000 a/s games which never played for 1 credit. I wouldn't call those nefarious.

Those who do it, do so knowingly.

The easiest way to solve sandbagging is to make the clubs and balls available by tier and not by level. Nothing is more annoying than to play  a level 92 tour pro who has legend equipment and plays from the ladies tee making his course more the 300 yards shorter and as much as 100 yards on a single hole. How do we get WGT to listen to it's members and fix the problem the way I just said?
