    usw1748:

I have now tried to play 4 multiplayer rounds and I just finished my first one. Started with 4 people and 2 quit and the other games everyone quit. I usually play match play because when a player quits they forfeit the game. Why can't WGT do the same thing for muilplayer rounds. There has to be a penalty for quitting and not coming back when disconnected. I have done my sheare bought clubs, balls, etc. It is now WGT''S  turn to do something about this problem.

    Thank You

unlike the match play games, players who drop out of multi player stroke play games cannot reconnect to the game.

I just started a four man at St Andrews - I birdied the first - one of the four bogied and quit. A couple of wayward drives and poor approaches by the remaining players and by the time I am ready to putt on the second I am alone.

I understand that people have to quit when something crops up - even if they are having a bad game and say they just can't bear to continue then fair enough. But to all leave before the 2nd hole is completed without  word is just plain rude.

Sometimes after a bad start coming from behind and finishing with a fairly good score can be very satisfying and you learn more about your golf and temperament than simply throwing the towel in cause of one bad shot.

i've run into the problem of the game glitch, where you are dropped out then returned.  i play next to my wife a lot, and i'll be playing the same hole when i come back in but not together.  you never know why someone quits so it's too arbtrary to penalize everyone.

3 weeks ago I had to quit a multi-play due to an electrical storm.  A few nights ago a bobcat was prowling around my horse corral so I had to leave another multi-play round and go shoot it.

I explained both times why I was leaving. By the way, I was ahead in 1 game and 2nd in the other.

How do you propose punishing only the sorry quitters that are protecting their average and not the ones with good reasons to quit? How does WGT determine why someone left? Do you have a solution?

I think Carlos has a fantastic idea .. let's punish people who are playing a virtual game for fun.  That's what WGT should do .. punish the people they are hoping will spend a few bucks to help them turn this fun site into an on-going business.   Better yet .. let's take them out behind the barn and beat the crap out of them.

How refreshing-haven't seen a quitter thread in a week or so. Always good to keep the archives active.

AlaCowboy, now those are 2 of the best reasons to quit a multi-player game,if I ever heard one. My best one is I had to drop out of a ready-go because I had a wild bore in my back yard, 110 lbs. and not too old so I made sausage out of him. What'd you do with the bobcat after you shot him?
