Graham DeLaet from Canada is the surprising first round leader at the Sony Open in Hawaii, shooting 7 under par for a 63 with 6 birdies and 1 eagle. DeLaet has never won on the PGA Tour and sat out most of the 2011 season with a back injury. Carl Pettersson, KJ Choi and Kyle Reifers are 2 shots back at 5 under, followed by a large group at 4 under including Steve Stricker, last week's winner. Defending Sony Open champion Mark Wilson finished 3 over par and is in danger of missing the cut after Friday.
