I'd like to play Augusta, my favourite course, and also Turnberry in Scotland. I really enjoyed last year watching that course during the Open Championship

Id like to see a couple of Australian courses on here:

Barnbougle Dunes - North East Tasmania - Rated 4th best in Australia

    http://www.barnbougledunes.com.au/

    and

Kingston Heath - Melbourne - Rated best in Australia

    http://www.kingstonheath.com.au/welcome/index.mhtml

Take the tours of the course to see what each hole looks like and the surroundings. Barnbougle is stunning...

I'd love to see some classic courses such as:

    • Cypress Point
    • Royal Melbourne (Composite)
    • Kingston Heath
    • Pine Valley
    • National Golf Links of America
    • Shinnecock Hills
    • Seminole
    • Pinehurst #2
    • Turnberry
    • Royal County Down
    • Muirfield
    • Royal Portrush

    And some modern greats:

    • Sand Hills
    • Pacific Dunes
    • Friar's Head
    • Barnbougle Dunes
    • Cape Kidnappers
    • Kingsley Club
    • Kingsbarns

Why would I like to see these?  Well, they're constantly rated the best in the world by most golf magazines/blogs/websites, you very rarely - if ever - see them on television and finally; I have more chance of sleeping with Scarlett Johannsson than I do of playing on most of them.

I've seen Sawgrass and Augusta a million times, don't need to see them again.  Give us something fresh, different and challenging!

Damned right. Wentworth and Birkdale are others.

    sixkiller:

I nominate Southern Hills in Tulsa, an incredibly difficult and beautiful course and a regular Major event venue.

We have relation in Tulsa. I've played Southern Hills three times and it is beyound difficult. LONG!!! Perfect greens...An older gem in Tulsa is The Tulsa CC. I believe it is a Tillinghast gig that is short by todays standards but a fabulous track...Tulsa has a few other very worthy courses that I have played but can't recall the names.

SP you are right that Southern Hills is a true gem.  Can't say it isn't known with several US Opens, PGA's and tour championships there.  Tulsa is a great golf town, there is a public track called Page Belcher Park that has two great courses and is very reasonable in price.  There are at least 7 or 8 other courses within 20 miles as well.  If anyone gets a chance to be in the area Southern Hills is a can't miss, although getting on it isn't easy.  If you happen to be in Tulsa, about 3 hours north is a hidden gem called Prarie Dunes out in Hutchinson Kansas.  They have had a US Open and a women's US Open there and a few others as well, great place to play.

Southern Hills is a Perry Maxwell design as is Prairie Dunes and as SP said Tulsa CC is a Tillinghast design.

Played it when I was 15, it killed me. Very under rated, hidden yes, perhaps like Maxwell...also hard to get on, but much, much easier than Southern Hills. And Belcher is as good a public course as one could ever wish for. Hard and long...whoops! Hard and difficult.

Both Southern Hills and Prairie Dunes have some difficult and long par fours.

Page Belcher is now owned by the city of Tulsa I think.  They have combined the two courses there, I think they are new Page and old Page (LOL) with two other tracts on the other side of town.  Can't remember their names but they were not as good as the Page Belcher tracts but really good public tracts.  Southern Hills has help around 15 major championships and would have held more except that the August heat would kill anyone playing there.

It is the World golf tour afterall, so lets get around the world :-

Mission Hills (China) - hosted World Cup

Valderrama (Spain) - hosted Ryder Cup

Celtic Manor (Wales) - hosting Ryder Cup

Any of the slick greened sandbelt courses of Melbourne

And maybe, as a final suggestion, the WGT have their own signature course for their own "Masters" - of course it must be exclusive and only played by invite! May even be fun for the programmers to stretch their imagination. Amen.
