I am personally for more foreign courses.  Now that the R&A gathered wgt we will get that.  For anybody who think oakmont is going to be easy, bring your straightest driver, it has very few dog legs

    Sebonack in Southampton

    Maidstone in East Hampton

    Winged Foot in NY

All are tough courses, but the hamptons ones would be distracting with its waterfront views.  Maidstone is litterally one the beach of the Atlantic.

Winged Foot is great, Shinnecock Hills would be great as well for courses that are out on near the Hamptons. It would be nice to see WGT pick a course from each geographic area ie: TPC Sawgrass Pinehurst # 2 Shinnecock Hills Praire Dunes Colonial Torrey Pines Sahalee Memorial Course Just a few examples but getting one from each geogphic area in the US would be great then add 2 or 3 from Scotland and Royal Melburne from Australia. Snaike I think you are incorrect about Augusta being in Miscrosoft games because of Gates, I think that as of now his membership has not been approved.

Been a member for 8 years.

From USA Today 9/2002 (updated 2004)

Wikipedia refers back to the above article

    A humorous look from Golf.com

From cnnmoney.com (Fortune Magazine) from 4/14/2003:

....Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, spent years trying to get into Augusta--and was kept out (until last year) because he had the audacity to say he wanted in.

    Augusta Golf from Augustaliving.com

Etc etc etc... there are pages of pages of links and sites.  Bill Gates has been a member of Augusta National since 2002.  He would have been in much sooner, when nominated by his good friend Warren Buffett, except he said he wanted in.  They held him out for this breach of etiquette.

    Peace

This does not bode well for me since I've made it clear I'd like to be a member at Augusta National.

Wait a minute!! Lets think about this. WGT just signed a "long term" deal with USGA and R&A, so the next two courses will be at Congrssional and Royal St. George's, the sites of the 2011 US and British Open's.

Spinmaster........... U assume they will give us just the Men's championship course? Remember this year we got the Womens course.... So really we should have 4 possible courses for next year..... where do the girls tee off for their majors next year? those should be included in your list....

Snaike you are right, I knew that Gates had committed a breach of ettiquite by actually asking to become a member and fro some reason thought that I had read that one of the members had made the comment that he would never vote for him.  Augusta uses the black ball approach, where one person can keep you out.  I have a friend who has been nominated to become a member 4 or 5 times and never approved, tons of money but not exactly a likeable person.  Another business associate from the 80's was a member, he ran a data processing firm in Augusta and was tied into all the newspapers, I was lucky enough to go there a few times with him.  Definitely not a how much money do you have place but a who do you know.

Or more accurately, who knows you.  lol

Although I think I would actually commit murder to play Augusta twice.  (Not just once, because my head would spin so much i wouldn't remember it!)
