"Do you think there is a difference between the retail industry and the video game industry, particularly the involvement level of the employees with it's clients? Does Macy's have an online "community" anywhere near what we have?"
It's a sales business, It's ALL a sales business so in that sense yes it IS!
Actually the wgt customer involvement is next to nothing compared to ANY other business. WGT does have a few" spokespeople.(If that's a word) LOL

"If I tried to execute this ancient business model, I would be outed as a
fake and a phony, because our community is too smart to take biased
praise and endless compromise. I am in a position where the community
needs to feel that their message is heard and that comes with a level of
trust. I won't get that trust if I pander."
I never said anything about biased praise or endless compromise. where did that come from?
I spoke on business practices that are tried and true and the fact that companies (not all) The fact that "The customer is not always right" as you wrote is JUST an additional reason so many businesses fail.
I do have a prediction on WGT. 5 or 10 years max, the original owners will cash out and the game will go the way as all the others.
