    pete3572:
after all they are  asking players to give them $10  in return for a fictitious ball and credits.

Lol, you're still around Pete? That's just too funny. I wrote this in another thread, but here we go again.

The conversion rate is actually not that bad. We had 3 legend callies for 25$ last time around, so this 1 is actually better.

But the stupidity of 1 ball per is in the fact that it's useless to all that don't use this ball already. I'm not bloody likely to start a game with only 1 ball, cause I don't want to get reset to starters in case of a mishap. Therefore I'm forced to either buy another sleeve (and I'm not paying extra just to see my flight path more clearly) or buy 10$ worth of credits at least twice and I get charged a small fee by my credit card service each time (if you buy 20$ in a single purchase, you'll only get 1 ball and you'll have to go through Icon or an email to get the other). Hm, on second thoughts, this idea may not be that silly after all, lol.

Although getting free stuff is always nice and never required, have you ever considered promotions along the lines of "buy 2000 cr, get 2400"? You might get a bigger response, cause it would allow people to spend the bonus on equipment of their choice.

As for the free rentals, I thought I had impeccable timing when I reached L90 on Wednesday night, I guess I was early.

    gmaster007:

anyone who claims this site OWES him anything is a moron.
nobody was saying or hinting that, what some of us are saying is
that this specific promotional offer is....shall we say.. anticlimactic?
when we take into consideration that "black friday"
is usually associated with big sales and crazy promotion offers.

no need to get all worked up about it,
and certainly no need to take it out on the customers,
we're all still lovingly addicted to this game :)

Now this is the post I was expecting :)

Thank you, gmaster007, for helping me keep things in perspective. Not only that, but you offer constructive criticism about how we can handle things in the future. I am very impressed.

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your stay :)

you get 1 ball that costs what, $1.33ish?  In my book, that's more than a 10% bonus.

This is worth noting, and in fact if you were to deposit $10, 3 times you end up with a sleeve.

$30 spent for a $5 bonus. This in itself is value to those who regularly use this ball.

    No doubt.

But there is more at hand here.

Many will take up the offer, receive a single ball and enter games with it.
The ploy here is those that dont notice the durability run out will be left with an option to BUY a sleeve, or resort to WGT Standard balls.

THIS, is where the 'free bonus' makes money for WGT. Far more than offering a sleeve for a $30 deposit.

Two way street I guess. On one hand there are those that benefit, on the other there are those that are being taken advantage of.

I don't use those balls personally, I would take up the offer for balls that i do use.

    No doubt.

But WGT aren't aiming this promotion to those who already use this ball. It wouldn't work otherwise.

Happy Holidays, may the spirit of Thanks Giving be with you all. =)

I purchased $50.00 worth of credits today. I expected ( being fair minded ) that I would recieve 5 free balls. Only got 1. Should have taken the time to buy $10 at a time, but made the assumption that  WGT would be fair minded enough to take care of  a loyal customer the proper way. That's what i get for thinking !!

Why you being such a smart bottom about it? You clearly know that they're talking about 1 ball not being worth the $10.

WGT is not required to give the community anything for free.

The fact that the community is upset at the quantity of gifts the company has given it's community this holiday season is likened to a child not happy with the iPad 2 when the iPad 3 just came out.

I would gladly take some constructive criticism about how we can improve our holiday promotions, but all I hear in these threads are "gimme gimme gimme" and to be honest, it sickens me. Our community is better than that.

YOU ARE NOT PAYING $10 FOR 1 GOLF BALL!

You are buying golf balls at regular price and then WGT IS GIVING YOU A FREE BALL.

I would say from your response, that this was your brain fart. For $10.00 , 1 free make believe ball. For real money. All this reflects , is just the selfish attitude of WGT. We as players dont ask for much, fix the problems with the game, better game quality, better customer support, and most of all a sense of fairness in treatment. So how dare you try to get an attitude with us.You have the nerve to act like we have done you or WGT some great wrong . No WGT doesnt have to give us anything, and we dont have to spend our money here either. How long can you as a company stay in business without money? How long will you keep your home , cars, and take care of your family , without money? So before you try getting fly at the mouth, you need to remember. Dont bite the hand that feeds the mouth. The players can find and do have other games they can play. So since you are not the only game in town, slow your roll.Happy Swinging

Look, WGT has made an offer so that you can get a FREE ball if you purchase $10.  This, to me, is a nice gesture.  While it is not the usual sleeve of balls, you are paying a lesser price.  If you feel it isn't a good deal, don't buy the credits, and do o moaning about it!  They aren't forcing you to buy the credits! If you are so angry as to post something hatred about WGT giving you something free, why don't you just quit?

Let it go guys, if I was Pizza, I'd feel a bit angry myself!

Hope you have a good rest of your holiday weekend to all the players and staff here.

Others before you have had the same issues during previous offers. Just leave a message on WGTIcon's wall or send an email to WGT. That's what others did and if my memory serves, they got their balls.

P.S.: I also copied this on your wall.

You are NOT talking to the community, you are talking with the customers. This IS a business and you represent WGT. Shame on you...and I would also take you to the office to make it clear NOT to talk to MY customers that way.
