anthonyvp1: I've been managing retail locations and was a rep for different companies. Business rule #1 The customer is always right.
Do you think there is a difference between the retail industry and the video game industry, particularly the involvement level of the employees with it's clients? Does Macy's have an online "community" anywhere near what we have?
I appreciate your contribution, but your experience is in a completely different world.
anthonyvp1: There are customers who are just rude and/or over demanding to a point where you HAVE to give a refund and tell them "It's apparent to us that we will never satisfy you and prefer you to take your business elsewhere"
If I tried to execute this ancient business model, I would be outed as a fake and a phony, because our community is too smart to take biased praise and endless compromise. I am in a position where the community needs to feel that their message is heard and that comes with a level of trust. I won't get that trust if I pander.
Besides, that's the OPPOSITE of what my position is. I am not WGT PR. The purpose of my position is to facilitate communication between WGT and it's community. The community will not respect me if I don't have an opinion. I am not WGT-bot.
Yes, I got heated, yes I used some sarcasm, but I stand by my sentiment - I am disappointed at the reaction by some of our community members to WGT giving out free product over the holidays.
Sometimes the players will do something I don't agree with. I haven't seen you around lately, anthonyvp1, but if you have been reading the forums you would know that I am involved with this community on a MUCH deeper level than the involvement you are describing as what should be expected of a WGT employee. I apologize for using sarcasm and expressing my opinion in not such a classy manner.
Stay classy,
-WGTpizza
