The F1 cars pit for tyres only. The tanks must hold enough fuel for the entire race distance.
The Brit GP was a bit of a shame with the tyre failures and the unknown as to why during the race. As I read online, both the Prime and the Option tyress had failures so it can't be pinpointed to one or the other. Some are saying the curbbing at turn 4 might have been cutting the sidewalls but it pretty hard to examine a tyre that's been blown to pieces. With the German GP this upcoming weekend, somebody has to do something pretty quick before driver injuries start to happen.
