    juggss6:

Create a partition, with XP, just so you can play this game smoothly? Now I've heard it all.

With my old computer I went one better and added another hard drive and installed XP on that.  The main drive didn't have enough space left to create a partition big enough for another installation.

I had Firefox and Maxthon installed and that was it.  It did help the meter somewhat but not as much as you might expect.  In all honesty though my main reason for doing it was to avoid the 5 minute boot up time I was having to live with.

Didn't you say that connection speed has nothing to do with this problem? And if you have all the answers why don't any of them seem to work?

    MainzMan:
I just changed from a relatively old Athlon X2 to a nice new i5 system and while this computer does everything waaay faster, I can't honestly say my meter is any better.

Same here, i used to use my Kids PC to play WGT 1 GIG of RAM, dual core and just standard PC graphics and meter would be smooth except for the occasional skip where meter would reach 3/4 way down and pause or skipp from 3/4 to around the ding mark.

I too bought a new Dell with Intel i7 processor, 12 Gig Ram, 2 Gig Graphics card and fastest internet connection for area and Is my meter any better.  If anything Its harder to play on.  The meter gets 3/4 way down and always wants to kick or zoom to ding.  Always In the same place so this points to WGT's Programming because It happens in exact same place all the time.  Its like the meter is getting confused with all the tampering It doesn't know which speed Its meant to run at due to the idifferent irons speed and balls on top, Its confusing It.  Why does meter always want to skip or zoom at same point 3/4 way down???  How can It be on our end If It happens all the time??

Personally I see It as comical.  Its a poxy moving line for god sake, how hard can It be to make It run smooth when I'm playing much more graphic intensive games and they are as smooth as silk.  Go and find other online games and come back and tell me if their graphics are stuttery when playing?? Or the most important part of that game does not work, i.e a racing game where the road is jumpy and stuttery

This happened to me too.  I was missing nearly every shot late as the meter would kick into overdrive for the last 1/2 inch.  When I installed Maxthon on the new computer I had to use a new Flash release.  I asked around and got some advice on which Flash works best and since installing an older version it's much better.  I forget which version, I'm on the laptop now but will let you know which one next time I play.

If it helps any, the meter's fantastic if you use Linux.  I have Chrome as the browser for my play-window, I can update my Flash whenever I want, and haven't cleared my caches in over a year. (I can be a bit stubborn like that...)

Maybe Windows is like a car with square wheels...and you're wondering why tuning the engine doesn't make the ride any smoother?

    Just a thought...

WGT is the car with square wheels.  Even with all the hoops we are meant to jump through to try and get meter smooth all the time, no other game expects you to do whats needed to play wgt. Has any one ever had to clear their cache playing a different game???

Sting hit nail on head some where else. Even the mobile version of WGT gives you a better meter than here so doesn't that tell us something???  A mobile version of WGT which DOES NOT use flash gives you a perfectly smooth meter, ON A MOBILE PHONE Compared to all out top spec PC's which STRUGGLE here.  Please, Is It our end??
