By far it's Oakmont #9.  I truly hate that hole.  I can be -3 through the first 8 and double bogey the 9th.  They put the hole on the side of a cliff, and there's not nearly enough room in front of the hole for me to approach from 200 yards out and stop the ball.  My options are hit the green and 4 putt from 60 feet away, or play it short to the front fringe and chip or flop on around the hole...but even that's gonna be at least a 2 putt for a bogey.

Play out of the trap or rough in front. It's an easy flop up but stay under the pin for an uphill putt. You can also go over the pin slightly where the ball will roll back to it.

For me it is undoubtedly the 17th at Kiawah. I don't know what is wrong with me when it comes to playing it? Possibly it's the fact that being the penultimate hole, it has the ability to ruin a card in 1 easy go or whether I just don't have the bottle for it. Whatever it is, I just cannot play the damn hole well when it counts.

Have to agree with you there. My biggest problem hole is 17 at St. Andrews. Cant seem to hit an approach shot to that green that doesn't end up in trouble. Of course 15 at Bethpage is tough because it plays so long.
