For me it is undoubtedly the 17th at Kiawah. I don't know what is wrong with me when it comes to playing it? Possibly it's the fact that being the penultimate hole, it has the ability to ruin a card in 1 easy go or whether I just don't have the bottle for it. Whatever it is, I just cannot play the damn hole well when it counts.

Yesterday I was -8 on the tee in the 18 hole Ready Go. I'd hit every fairway and only missed one green prior. What happens? Yes, you've guessed it, I balloon my tee shot right into the pond. It then gives me a drop in the sand @ 184 yards!!! Second ball goes short into the pond. I then get a 3rd shot from the tee and walk off with a 7. I then bogey the 18th just to really blow up. What looked like a posssible 2nd place, if I'd made 2 pars, becomes a 69 and 11th.

Today, I am -7 on the 17th after making 9 pars and 7 birdies. Wallop! Another one ballooned into the pond. I know the routine from here, so it's no surprise that I'm in the sand from my drop. Another one drops hopelessly short of the green stuff and I eventually walk off with a 7. Then lo and behold I bogey 18. A 65 turns into a 70 and I lose a potential 2nd place and end up in 12th.

400 credits lost and 4 balls gone too.

God I hate that feckin hole!!!

I would go for the 15th at Bethpage Black although the 9th at Oakmont runs it close. A par on either of these holes is a very good score.

BP15, no question. That isn't a golf hole, it's some left over torture device from the Sp. Inquisition.

KI17? Only ace I ever made. Did get wet there once,  as a hack. Minus eight? Neva had a card like that.  I've heard golf is 90% psychological. Dunno. But suspect your prob with this gimme hole is.

How about the easiest? SA9 hands down, right?

I hate KIA #14.  I have aced it once yes, and I have my fair share of birdies on it, but it seems the beast is very present on even the slightest meter miss, balls starting way left on one notch miss on the ding, balls not carrying, balls not checking.

No doubt Oakmont #9, just not a fair hole.  You hit the green and can't make par, the bunker in front of the green is my target.

Oakmont #9 and Bethpage #5. Oakmont#9 Too difficult to get close in 2 even on old masters level. Now just play to leave a pitch and a putt which works most times. Bethpage#5 I don't like this hole because I can't get it on the green in 2. Birdied it once with a chip in, but it has ruined too many good starts on BPB. Kiawah#17 is frightening again with the new tees but I have had no problems with it yet. Bethpage#15 not so much of a problem now as I can usually make par thanks to 64 degree wedge

Same for me. It used to be 17th at both Kiawah and St. Andrews but I got the hang of them lately.

Bethpage #5 - can't stop it on the green under any circumstances

STA #2 - bad enough with flag front left but when it's at the back behind the mound halfway up Mount Everest it's a lottery
