    superstar2:

Maybe try to hit the rough right in front of the green, it slows the ball down by a lot and hopefully it will be able to stop, it sounds impossible, but worth a try, just has to hit the exact spot O.O

I've only pulled this shot off one time and it was purely an accident from a missed ding. It landed on that little piece of grass between the halves of the bunker and jumped up on the green stopping about 20 feet from the hole.. Then I missed my eagle putt and made birdie anyway. Now I just hit to the right of the green and wedge up for a birdie most of the time. Less stress and a higher degree of success.

Can someone please give me any tips as to how I might be able to hit (and stay) on the green?

Hit your 3w with top spin into the rough to the left of the trap. Executed properly, the rough will slow the shot down and the top spin will bounce it forward onto the green. Play left of the pin and have the ball roll to above the hole where it will roll back down.

IMO,  don't waist your time, 9 times out of 10 it's not going to happen, play your second shot to where you are 60 away use your wedge for the next shot. This way you are guaranteed a birdie, or with some luck an Eagle

You can play a 3 wood off the top of the mound in front of the green and watch it roll down to the hole. You may get a lengthy putt, but it will be for eagle nonetheless.

Bollox had a cool replay of this very shot at one time.

With the R11 3 iron (level 90+), full backspin, and the right wind, you can stick it close for eagle from both pin placements.

Its not too likely though and the sure birdie is the best play like the others said.

How can you stick an eagle shot for an eagle try?  DOH!

Takes a head wind or getting "rough love" as others have pointed out.

Either go long or right of green when it's a front pin. Front pin sucks when you're second winds up short in the bunker. The green slopes towards that front pin. Touch to get close unless you're an expert sand flopper.

DOH! on me. I thought we were talking about 15. Sorry, Richard4168.  :-(

Now that I know what everybody's talking about, I agree with what Kindle said. I have always played that hole driver, wedge, wedge for an easy birdie. Lay up low in the fairway 80-100 out  just over the trap  and stick the approach.

If you play up the fairway and don't get past the traps you have a problem-you're too close from there. The green landing of the shot from there is on a slope that the ball runs off and you scoot past the hole. Playing out of the trap is the same way. Staying lower and further out gets you an easy full wedge and you can stop the ball.

On a plus note, if you blast through the green the return shot is an easy pitch and you can find that shot in the BPB CTTH.  :-)

I have found the only way to have a high percentage chance of eagle is from the back of the green. I used to layup as suggested to the 50-60 range or closer and yes, you can usually make birdie that way. However, I have only made eagle with a pitch from the back of the green. Flop would not be a high percentage shot in that situation, btw. Get to 15-17 yards and full to almost full bs on the 64 CG and you have a very good chance at eagle -and if you miss, its basically a tap in birdie.

It is a waste of time trying to 'stick' the green because at best its a very long putt, and a mis-hit will have you in the bunker struggling to make par.

Just play for pin high on the fairway. You can get within 50 yards so the next shot will be within a yard or two.
