$11.95 for a wedge with less precision than the clevelands??  Fair enough the meter is slower and a dot more forgiving, but the cleveland wedge's has a slow enough meter anyway to not need the extra forgiveness.  So is it worth spending an extra $3 more than the clevelands for a wedge with less precision and less spin?  But to those who complain that the clevelands spin back when you land near pin without adding spin, these might be the answer to a little bit of forward roll..........

I've bought them just for the sake of spending credits on something new, so watch this space___________________. (a bit hypocritical, i know. LOL)  But again, if WGT introduced a left handed screwdriver i would probably buy it.  Spent $60 on equipment did i really need in the first place??

One things for sure, hitting ding is much easier on the pitch and chip, it doesn't zoom at speed of light like the clevelands, and the 50 yard wedge doesn't spin back down the green on Oakmont #2 like the 64° cleveland.  The forward bounce is back!!!  No more landing an inch from pin and ball spinning back 4 to 5 yards with NO ADDED SPIN!

I find it funny that they got rid of the Z-Satin TM wedges, and these new ones only add a half of dot of spin compared to those.

At least that was the difference between my 50 yard wedge, and the new ones 50 yard wedge.

I will keep my Z-Satins and laugh at the people that spend the $12 on these new wedges.

I think wgt should try to introduce more club makers and ball makers.

    Hey Chris,

Next time your 'just for the sake of spending credits on something new' compulsion kicks in feel free to send over the latest  R11s driver.

Thanks in anticipation of your next 'fix' being sated.

    Johnny.

    ;o)

How many times have you landed near pin with clevelands and then spun back 4 yards without adding spin, these give the realistic forward bounce and only spin when you USE spin.  And the slower meter makes it much easier to hit ding with chip and pitch.

Not a great review there from Peoch.

Just did some sums and compared them to my own equipment. This is what I carry in my bag:

    Cleveland CG16 56 degree wedge (100 yards) = 895 credits

    Ping Tour W 60 degree wedge (75 yards) = 200 credits

    Taylormade Z Satin TP 64 degree wedge (50 yards) = 118 credits

    TOTAL: 1213 credits

AND this is the new Taylormade ATV wedges:

    ATV 56 degree wedge (100 yards) = 1195 credits

    ATV 60 degree wedge (75 yards) = 1195 credits

    ATV 64 degree wedge (50 yards) = 1195 credits

    TOTAL 3585 credits

So the same yardage, which I feel is a great mix if you're carrying 3 wedges. The price is the difference and a few dots here and there on the "stats board".

I won't be changing, I don't need more spin, I don't need more forgiveness and I don't need more precision because I'm really not a great player and don't aim to eagle every approach. If I land within 3 yards I'm thrilled...My current wedges do that more often than not.

As a side note, the Z Satin 64 degree wedge is possibly the best club ever made on this game, price and performance wise...And now it's gone :(. lol I won't be selling it anytime soon.

But will be cool to see how the top guys play with these new shovels. I'm keen to hear what they think.

I sold mine because i didn't realise it had been replaced, but the new ones is just the same probably EVEN BETTER!  sllloooowwweeerrrr meter makes them easy to ding.  Yes they're expensive, but thats what every thing has become on WGT we pay double for something which is only a touch better

    "New wedge scale"

    64, chip = 6, pitch = 14,  flop = 16

    60 chip = 10, pitch = 22, flop = 26

    56 chip = 16, pitch = 33, flop = 38

meter much slower so hitting ding is easier on pitch & chips, and ball doesnt spin back when you land near pin, Oakmont #2 the 64 degree doesn't spin back down green either, there's actually forward bounce

This should not be accepted so easily & is not by those of us who don't like being ripped off.
