I was looking at the meter speed also.  I think these wedges would be better aligned to the G20's.

Not entirely true. Please read why in my above post.

    Thank you.

I was commenting on the meter speed, not the distances.

    Win1Soon:

Guys, if your surfing the forums in search of a purchase answer,.. stop reading right now and make these new clubs yours, then come back and read more to get even more excited about your new wedges! There will be tons of opinions all over the place, but I say to you if these clubs are within your personal budget I would certainly buy them now. I wish I saved a couple replays from this morning, a few hot shots and hole out from 40 50% rough. What better testimonial imo. Some folks will say " they lack a 1/2 ball precision though. And " they have less spin than the Cleve does. They seem (compared to any other club imo) to be the perfect balance wedge I have EVER  played on wgt! And NO, I have not been asked or paid to hop on the forum and write this bit. When something this special grabs my attention, I want to bring it to yours. God Bless everyone.. and keep em str8!!

    YES!

And i would like to add, how many times with the 60 yard cleveland have you landed near pin only for ball to roll back 4 yards without adding spin?  These wedges dont spin back like the clevelands and give forward momentum so more chance of holing shots.  Yes, they don't stop as well as clevelands with full spin on pitch shots a bit more roll to them, but all you need to do is under hit by a fraction instead, , but how many times have you used a chip with cleve's only for ball to land then stop dead above hole rather than bouncing or rolling forward.

I think it's fair enough for the top clubs to be pretty expensive but I think it's a disgrace that the old Z Satins have gone.  Maybe they were just too good for the money, the 64° was certainly by far the best value item in the pro shop.  It's so good that the most sucessful player here is still using it, in spite of there being supposedly better wedges available.

WGT just made it a lot more expensive for up and coming players to get hold of a great set of wedges, not exactly very customer friendly.

I guess that trough their snouts are in is blocking the long term view a bit.

sooooo true I really thought everyone on here was on WGT's payroll or something but I stand corrected.

Forget about the price.  The new wedges do pack a bit of B/Spin so be careful.  Not bad clubs, but the Max Distances  does not suit my game I think.

50, 75,100  Compared to my Cle Wedges...  60,80,100.  This with the R11's.

I rented the 3 of em.. actually the 75yrd wedge is good...  Driver/Wedge to green, perfect for some holes.

Jury still out though. Not sure.

    -Roger

p.s ... I shocking with  club names...so excuse me for not giving them.

These wedges compare to the CG's in the same way the lvl 83 G20 irons compare to the lvl 79 Burner 2.0's. Slower meter and easy to hit, but not as dynamic in their performance.

Yes, I got them and like them o.k. for now, but until I can get the short game completely figured out (i.e. effectiveness on the pitch and chip shots) I'll keep the CG's in my bag when it matters.

It's obvious that WGT places paramount value on a slower meter as EVERYTHING with a slower meter is ultimately priced at a premium. I understand that, but if I want the actual "best" I tend to overlook the meter speed, or at least make that the 3rd or 4th thing I look at when making my decision.

I take issue with their self-indulgent statements proclaiming things as "best" or "most popular" because too many take that as gospel. The Rocketballz gear is perfect case in point. They were released with the tag line as the "hottest clubs on tour" and they aren't even the third best in this game, but people bought them thinking there was something not listed in the club's stats. There wasn't.

I guess we'll see if these new ATV wedges really ARE the best wedges in WGT, or if that statement was derived simply because of the slowed meter.

These wedges dont spin back like the clevelands and give forward momentum so more chance of holing shots.

I always felt the Cleveland wedges had way too much spin and played nearly every approach with top spin. The problem with that was the ball very rarely released towards the hole which I always think is preferable.

    These Taylor Made wedges do release and run towards the hole and I feel I have more of a chance of this happening with them;

I think I will continue with them....
