If your watching the open, now that's" real life" not these in the 50's scores

I dont mind if the game become harder. Actually I think it would be nice.

I do have some thoughts about it:

I don't want the game to become a lottery, having some shots that react normal and some others with not wind applied or going shorter or longer (like actual US Open qualifier). This said, I want the game to be based on skill, If we make a good shot then the result should be good, a ding is a ding.

In order to do this, I believe, messing with deviation and precision is not the solution. To have a harder game WGT need to implement additional stuff to the equation, like stand control, draw and fade in every shot, hair in the green, wind affecting putts... and a lot of more things that can make game interesting; letting the skill to play the game and not a random set up to each round and each player.

    MisterWGT:
Think about it this way... for every 10,000 rounds started on Olympic in the last month, approximately 600 actually post a score on the 18th.
That's because you give the option to just click a button and start again when things get messed up.....Make it a one shot qualifier and then see how many post a score on the 18th.

    MisterWGT:
Certainly... endless play qualifiers are hardly realistic.
Stop doing it then and make it a more realistic system.

It's a balancing act... keeping the game accessible for first-time players around the world vs. the seasoned WGT veteran definitely affects the scoring.

However, that said, we don't want scores in the 50s either.

In the coming releases there will be a series of features that will better address this.  And then, when that happens, a round like Bubba or Phil's today...

    ...much more likely.

    Stay tuned!

    real winds please

extract from ELCC Forum discussion on your above post

i think the wind will be altered instead of a constant speed say for example 15mph at present it never changes and is 15 through out the stroke. if they allowed it to move through a range say from 11 to 17 just like a real wind it would put a degree of doubt in  the yardage and stop players peppering the pin as the wind at the time of impact wouldn't be an exact number. blustery winds its the way forward.

That would be a great feature

Cut at +7 (77) at this very moment with easy tees & mild winds.....err

Wish it was a button to go back in status: Legend>TM, TM>Master, etc, etc. but when going back to a lower tee you are allowed only to use lower performance equipment every time you go down on tier.

There are some players here that have the best equipment (including balls) that even having a totally smooth meter & could ding all shots along 18 holes, can not finish a round in mid 60's.

Lets make this game less ..... ridiculous, shall we?

edit; is it possible to change my alias to "Hossier"?, he's really inspiring, good example to use your golf fantasy here at WGT.

Imagine the joy you could stimulate on an unknowns face were they to have the round of their life, and find themselves among the greats?

    Hi Lizzie!

But in contrast, what a shame it would be if some of the best players here got metered a few times a round and missed the cut because of it?

I understand limiting the quals to some degree though.

Not all the top players qualify every year in the real Opens for whatever reason, and that is why an unknown is able to be amongst the greats.

I agree with the suggestions that WGT should allow players to practice all they want... outside of the qualifying round, but then limit the qualifying to one single attempt.  And if any of the top players don't make it for whatever reason, be it because of a meter stutter or anything else, then they just have to accept they didn't make it in this comp this year... and maybe the little guy can actually win one of the major prizes on WGT as can happen in real life, because as it is at the moment there is only a handful of players who can walk away with the prize.

It should be how one does 'on the day', not what is your best score out of one million attempts!

May be there is a middle term to this.

Unlimited Practice and  4-6 attemps to post a scores in which the best one stays. You would have 4-6 chances to make a good score. You wont have unlimited restarts, but you wont have to lose a chance because of meter or any other reason.

Let say, for example 6 weeks of qualifiers. one single play qualifier per week. at the end the best of your scores will be the one that stays.

I'm sure all the rounds will be posted this way,

I have always said to everybody... the difference between Wgt Players and Real Golf Pro's has been 10 shots.

The Beauty about this game is you get on the Tee and just hit the ball... Ok, there is a few things extra things  you have to do...  I don't like to see this game be changed to ... something we do in the Hokey Pokey... Move ya left foot here, mover ya right arm there...

    Keep it simple Wgt.....

I don't really care what the Elite say's too... I think the Elite Wgt Golfers are Bored at shooting the low scores all the time... there is nothing else left for them to do... Apart from winning big Comps... Which is great, don't get me wrong.

Just Saying.... Keep it simple to golfers like me who still Pumps my fist for a Bird or breaking 60.. Pump me both fists then....lol

    Cheers
