The real sandbagging issues are tour pro and below. Because its so easy to create a second account and start over. If someone wants to sandbag in the Legend Tier, they still have to beat some very solid Legend players.

    BM

Plenty of Hold Back Legends are sandbagging the TM tier, the main advantage being the front tees.

the solution to almost all of the sandbagging would be to tie gear to tier. Levels should reflect how long or how much you have played, Tier should reflect your skill.

The way it's set up now, Over Geared, Under Tiered players are the bane of WGT.

Yeah but there is no tee advantage so theres no real bagging in the Legend tier. IMO

Legend with less than 400 rounds before the last update:

For them I think that their average will fluctuate until they have played 500 rounds as legend. Once they have played more than 500 rounds, their average will be the average of their best ever 500 rounds played as legend. This needs to be confirmed by a legend with less than 400 rounds before the update.

I hope I was clear enough.

    Regards

Well ... I just finished my rounds 401  and 402 and it appears that the above is correct.  My average is still fluctuating.

once you get the extra 100 ranked round's done you should start to see the average go back down a little. It has been happening with me. I've gone down .19 since I had finished my new 100 ranked rounds.

Thanks Mark for your input. Do you know how much rounds as legend you had at the time of the update?

I ask this because we are in a transition state, so various scenario are possible. If your average still fluctuate once you have played 100+ rounds after the update but less than 500 in total, that could be the sign that you will need to play 500 rounds before your average stabilizes (which will be definitely confirmed once you will have played 500 rounds). Keep us informed, that's interesting for the community.

I had 383 rounds as of July 31.  I'll know more when I get closer to the 100+ rounds.

I am a bit confuse with all this to be honest, I had a look at the above but on  the stats of the player it says

    Total Ranked Rounds Played    1,365

Does this mean that nearly 1 thousand rounds have been played since the 31 of July?

    Hey Fabian,

I have not read the hole thread but I am the legend with much less then 400 ranked matches. I'm going up 0.1 each time I hit 28's.

Somehow it is not important to me how much it goes up, me experience as TM is that I could not go above 61 after several very bad rounds over 100. Don't know if the system can see that I have been hitting many rounds under 60/30 & would not allow me to go above 61 again as legend.

As this pace I'll be a TL within 2 months I guess. I am determined to play on championship greens at any cost...lol. ( don't see any other difference between TL & Legends).

    Regards mate, Eric

PS...hope my already tired left wrist & only un-injured can resit the pace of many many ranked matches ahead.

    Couple of silly questions here:

I have 725 ranked rounds.  How can I tell how many of these are as a Legend?

I have been playing my ars off here lately and have noticed that on a good round (sub59) my avg only goes down .02 on 18 hole rounds and .01 on 9 hole rounds. Is this normal??

Can one make it to TL tier with an avg of more than 59.99 ??  If they calculate the last 100 rounds and they are avg 59.99 or under,  Does this mean that they will qualify??  For instance:  I have played 61 ranked rounds since update, my avg from those rounds is a 57.44.  If I can keep that pace of play and hit the 100 ranked, could I turn TL, or still need to be 59.99.  At the rate of .02 decrease in avg, this will take me a year  FFS.

I know that there are no "real" answers because no one knows the "exact" formula used, but, still hoping for some insight.

    Thanks for the great topic!!!!

There is no way to retrieve that information. Those who know how many rounds they played as legend is because they counted them.

There is no difference between a 9-hole and a 18-hole. A 9-hole count as a 18-hole (the score is multiplied by 2). Posting twice the same low score consecutively doesn't decrease the average with a constant gap. For example let's assume that you played 20 rounds and posted 60 each time. For you 21th round you post a 55. Your average is then

    (20*60 + 1*55) / 21 = 59.76

So your average decreased by 0.24. Now for your 22th round you post again a 55. Your average is then

    (20*60 + 2*55) / 22 = 59.55

So your average decreased by 0.21 and not 0.24.

What is not yet known for sure is the number of rounds needed to move to TL for legend who had less than 400 rounds (for those who played more than 400 rounds, they just need to play 100 additional rounds).

What I think is that you need to have played at least 500 rounds before being qualified for promotion. Once you have played those 500 rounds as soon as your average is equal to 60 (not 59.99) or below, you are promoted to TL.
